I see the nameless faceless GWS CEO says the giants hate Collingwood.

How quaint and unusual.

I suggest he takes a number and forms an orderly queue with every other club
Marketing 101.

Find the biggest club in the game.
Attempt to have it notice you.
Fight the 16 other clubs who are also working the same angle.

I hear their membership numbers are up in the hundreds now, so it seems to be working.

Shame being they are a very good football team and shouldn’t need a ceo taking cheap shots to sell some tickets

They were over the moon when nick got hurt, carrying on, all of them thinking they were top s**t (hawthorn as a collective). Not to mention the targeting the whole game

Mate! He could have kept running in a straight line,Clearly deviates into into nicks path and tried to pretend it was an accident afterwards. Funny how footy works now the bloke will be coming off a acl into a contract year.
You are not serious are you?
This game happens in split seconds and the coaches expect you to put your body in the line and not avoid contact.
Yes they targeted Nick to rough him up and put him off his game. Legally and nothing that we haven’t done to opposition players in the past.
It certainly wasn’t a good look when they ran around congratulating themselves, but they were winning the game after all.
Im glad the majority of the football world sees this incident the way it was. A football incident that wasn’t even put up for review.

Of the top 30 attendances last year, 15 involve collingwood....and remember we only played 26 games...

Home ground advantage?;)

Did we win those games?

Sorry but this is naive. There is a very fine line players and teams run when they play the 'targeting' game of making a player physically pay for their talent. Yes it's happened many times in the past but so did king hits and I bet you the random elbows in the back, discreet gut punches, extra hard knees in the ribs in marking contests, purposely falling on the opponent after a mark etc. will all be gone from the game within 20 years.

There is zero doubt in my mind the hawks player went in to hurt. Not purposely injure Nick as players don't do this anymore but certainly 'make him pay'. It's extremely rare that a player ends up bumping another on the ground, front on, in a marking contest, while deviating their run. Usually duty of care means once the ball is impossible to reach the player doesn't randomly join the contest to bump. And yes before anyone brings it up the only difference with the Maynard/Brayshaw incident is that Maynard continued in a straight line and was in the air so didn't control his last movement, whereas the Hawks player 100% did. Unfortunately this time it resulted in an injury. It doesn't mean he's a thug or he deserves an ACL or anything of the sorts but the intent was very questionable and it's no coincidence it happened in this game and against Nick of all players.

The more this stuff happens the more likely it is that the AFL will stamp it out (probably in a reaction to a big incident since they're incapable of anticipation) and I bet you our club and coaches are on the lookout for any future similar incidents involving Nick to raise the point with the league because his club, name and talent has put a target on his back.

I'm Dead serious champ, I'm scratching my head how it wasn't even 50 as Nick had already secured the mark, but remember afl umpiring is a absolute joke and wont be changing anytime soon

I dunno if the checking off the ball was 100% legal, and old mate Finn didn't have his eyes on it the whole game either but on my previous point the umpires are completely useless and won't call that.

Sam mitchell would have 100% said if you get a chance to take him out, do it, and we will worry about the consequences later, a leopard never changes its spots (unsociable hawks of the 2000's)

Why do the Giants hate us?Because we have the one thing they don’t?Supoorters who actually give a s**t about them?😝

Nah, that’s unfair.

Giants supporters would be amongst the most passionate in the AFL. Suns too for that matter.

But it’s a bit like the passion you’d see amongst the folks down at your local Tiddlywinks club - the passion of an obscure fringe subculture of misfits.

Agree, far less serious than the call made by Maynard which I thought was a ‘sh1t happens’ football act. We can’t have our cake and eat it. If we do think Maynard was OK then the hit on Nick was even less worthy of comment.

This is a lie.
Dave Matthews loves pies.

Loves them like a whole in the head. He's Richmond aligned and hates pies.
He's the one who made us pay more trade capital then initially agreed for Treloar.

Originally Gubby and team agreed to 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder.
He over ruled them and went to AFL to help step in which saw the 2x pick 7 outcome.
