Cheating during a match is a bit different to a private end of year celebration.

Yeah but clearly it’s something that was in bad taste
And he’s guilty for being there and not stopping it like the others

Bit like Steve Smith given he was captain for getting a year ban for turning a blind eye in sandpapergate

Bit different when you KNOW your team is actively cheating in a test match to not stopping your teammate from making offensive jokes at a private event

Yes. Tasteless given they have an AFLW team and I believe a netball team.

Just need to be respectful and whether it was done in private isn’t the point. It’s a bad reflection on the guys if they think it’s funny to dress up as those characters who have been accused of rape etc.

And joking about the Twin Towers isn’t funny given how many people died.

But I do think a $20k fine for the captain is a bit rich.

Toby was fined $5k.

Upon reflection, I think the AFL got this wrong.

Any player who engages in demeaning acts towards women should be banned for life.

We live in a society where women are subjected to brutal rapes and murderer.

The only solution is to educate young men like this that simulating violence against a women is contemptible.

AFL should have gone even harder. Time to take a stance on violence against women.
