Delusional Richmond supporters on their board legitimately think the club announced Yze as senior coach tonight as a middle finger to the AFL and remaining finalists to take the media attention away from them.

Have they forgotten that as of tomorrow it's four months since Hardwick quit? I don't think this is some master plan on behalf of the club to drag the spotlight away from Collingwood/GWS/Brisbane/Carlton.

More likely that they wanted the spotlight taken away from their announcement. There will be less fuss made about a new appointment than normal. Yze slides into the job quietly.

Do opposition coaches not realise that simply copying all of Crag McRae's sayings and philosophies doesn't mean anything when you're simply copying what he's saying because it sounds good?

Just say what you actually feel/believe, not just what Fly said because it sounds nice and worked for us

Fly's philosophies aren't uniquely Fly. Their a product of the positivity psychology approach to coaching which has been being pushed and been taken up a fair bit around the world. Most coaches are using the philosophies to a degree - he's just bought in more fully and understands and expresses it better than the rest of the AFL.

My point was more than in the footy world, most of those philosophies were somewhat uniquely Fly and you could instantly tell it was his true belief and philosophy in how he went about things.

Now seeing existing coaches whom we know for a fact don't follow these philosophies suddenly parrot them is laughable.

Then all of a sudden having Yze and Gale parroting the "no ceiling" stuff is just...I dunno. It reeks of lip service.
