Smith, who was awarded a $1.4 million insurance payout from the AFL in 2020 related to concussion symptoms post-career, took to social media to condemn the decision, saying: “AFL you are an embarrassment and an absolute joke!!!!”
The father of current Demon Joel Smith added to the post: “Absolutely disgusting .... The AFL is a disgusting organisation ... I wonder who was on the take to clear this thug.”
The 54-year old, who retired in 1998, responded to one comment: “I’m sure you would say the same thing if it was your son…
“This thug KOs (knocks out) someone, potentially ending their career, and he gets off.”
Sabotage? Or was it a complete oversight by him?Rumour has it Melbourne player Joel Smith wasn’t expected to return a positive test.
He is a lucky boy. He has likely already served what will be his eventual 1 month ban. As long as he can establish he was using out of competition, the ban(with a treatment program) will be a month. Think he will be able to backdate it to the day after his season finished. Even if not, he won't miss any pre-season. But he will have to go through the WADA process. Not sure how the provisional ban would work if it goes past the likely penalty - think they could seek relief to train whilst the matter is underway.Their forward line is already in shambles.
Love to see his dumbhead father slag off the AFL for this as well, peanut was quite vocal about Maynard getting off
Missing pre-season isn't too bad anyway. You're not banned from gyms, you're not banned from running, you're not banned from the local park to kick the footy. Exclusion from the club makes it harder but not impossible. The bigger picture here is Melbourne. What an off-season. They have returned to their old ways very quickly. He is a lucky boy. Looks like Goodwin has had a major impact there.Melbourne's Joel Smith has tested positive to Cocaine during H&A season leading into finals
That Melbourne culture tho amirite?
I’m almost certain Sidey knew of elements of the case Sam Murray that were never divulged publicly…A game day test can’t be deemed out of competition
Do explain.I’m almost certain Sidey was involved with the defence team of Sam Murray so this is a discussion you don’t want to get into with him.
It's a crazy idea that goes against everything we currently stand for, but it may not be a good idea to argue the rules with someone who has read and understood the rules. When people start quoting coded rules , you know you are in a bit of trouble

There’s not much to explain. Sidey is a gun lawyer and was commenting on Murray in a way that was clear to anyone with half a brain that he was privy to information the average Joe wasn’t.Do explain.
You are actually stupider than I thought. There’s not much to explain. Sidey is a gun lawyer and was commenting on Murray in a way that was clear to anyone with half a brain that he was privy to information the average Joe wasn’t.
Whats the goss on spargo ?Missing pre-season isn't too bad anyway. You're not banned from gyms, you're not banned from running, you're not banned from the local park to kick the footy. Spargo, Oliver and now Smith. Two have allegedly been caught, one just has an embarrassing rumour.
We're no better but that's quite the list.
Probably just being a mate and a good VC but his partner is a lawyer. There’s not much to explain. Sidey is a gun lawyer and was commenting on Murray in a way that was clear to anyone with half a brain that he was privy to information the average Joe wasn’t.
He used ketamine at a party, shat his pants and earned a nickname from the ordeal. Happened at Petracca's new house in about 2021.Whats the goss on spargo ?
Simon Goodwin: cites "expected score", disrespects opposition, arrogantly thinks his team is better.
Players: cite "expected score", disrespect opposition, go out in straight sets, STILL think they're the better team.
Simon Goodwin: obsesses over Maynard incident, loses focus on football, gets super salty.
Players: obsess over Maynard incident, lose focus on football, get rolled by the Blues, remain super salty.
Simon Goodwin: gambles extraordinary amounts of cash, openly cheats on partner, binges on Cocaine.
Players: well, most of this has been rumour, until today's cocaine story.
It's almost like... it's almost like the players will follow their coach's lead?
Goodwin is an absolute cancer and he's destroying the Melbourne Football Club.
