Yeah that too obviously. I'd prefer the team giving their all though.
Yeah, just playing 2 4qtr games in a row would be nice
Swans could play finals, mathematically though. What is the point of making up numbers? I mean we have seen what we can do in September but sadly, my glass half full is starting to become more empty.

It's a pretty simple equation from here, we need to win 5 of our last 6 to play finals.
We play: Dockers, Bombers, Giants, Suns, Crows, Demons
Round 18
Demons play Crows
Dogs play Bombers
Giants play Suns
We need to beat Dockers to keep our season alive.
Beat Dockers. And we could be sitting 12th on 34 points. Behind 3 teams on 36 and Blues in 8th on 38 points. Only a game out of the 8.
If Giants beat the Suns, we probably sit at 11th, but with Giants in 8th on 40 points and Blues at 9th on 38 points. Still 1.5 games out of the 8.
Its probably going to be the second scenario though. It's going to be an interesting last few rounds.
Edit: I hadn't accounted for Richmond, should beat WCE and finish above us by the end of the round. Pushing us to 13th and 12th in the above scenarios.

Apologies in advance, one game at a time and all that, but if we beat Freo next week, round 20 against Essendon will shape our season.

It seems we've had a number of season shaping games, and we've not done well in most of them. I'm over living on the edge

Completely agree, St Kilda, then Geelong and then Richmond. We've continued to blow our chances.It seems we've had a number of season shaping games, and we've not done well in most of them. I'm over living on the edge
But then, we've had that win against the Eagles, we managed to collect enough % to bring us back on par with the other top 8 aspirants, but then we went and blew it the following week against Geelong by not taking our opportunities in front of goal.
But then we had the gusty win against the throwflogs which has kept us in the hunt.
Watching the dogs game, I wasn't expecting to win, but there were a few passages of play where I just thought to myself that if we could get some belief, we have the tools to really get a roll on this season.
To me that was enough to keep the hope alive.

My prediction, we drop 1 of our next 5, probably against the Giants, but then beat Melbourne to book our spot in the finals.

We have to beat Freo, Essendon, Suns simple as that - teams we should beat at our best
Then we have to win 2 of Crows (ao much harder ), melbourne and GWS

I'd agree if I thought we actually looked any better against the Bulldogs than we did in any other game this year.

We also need the dogs to be beating Essendon Richmond GWS etc and I think what we saw is they aren't much good , losing to us

The other top 8 aspirants play each other over the remaining rounds so they'll drop games against each other opening the door for us.
I think it's as simple as winning 5 of our last 6 and it doesn't matter what else happens. And by simple, I mean the equation, not the feat.

Hahaha my daughter keeps telling me to just give up on this season, it will be much better for my health. So when we go out and do what we did against Richmond, I think yep that's it, season done and dusted.
And then, just to tease me, they do something like Thursday night and once again my spirit soars and I'm doing the ladder predictor fifty five different ways and in my head we're beating Collingwood in the GF.
I'm really hating this season.......
Unless of course all my crazy dreams do come true and we beat Collingwood in the GF - then it will be the best season ever!
I don't know if my wife will let me go to the GF again!
