How is his actual defending? The scout reports were that he could intercept and kick but couldn't stop blokes kicking goals.
His actual defending is his best trait. His contest work is honestly elite, especially given size. He halves or wins basically every contest

Reidy: 19 Disposals, 18 Hit outs, 7 Marks, 5 Tackles, 2 goals
Remembered reading on his draft profile that he used to be a KPF and was good for a goal at VFL level last year, and was confused as to why that wasn't reflected in his WAFL numbers. But of his 7 goals in 13 WAFL games this season, 4 have come in the last 2 weeks. Assuming Smith coming in and Treacy, Kuek and Corbett no longer in the WAFL team is giving him room to show his capabilities?

Player write-up

Honestly a great game of footy and if you need a Freo fix during the week, watch the replay. Considering they were missing Wilson and Bell who have been pretty important for Peel most of the year, that was a great win.

Tabs: Long way off what he should be doing at the level but that's understandable. The rest of the year is probably just about building and helping Peel win a flag for him. Would probably still play over Corbett even in his current form.
Banfield: BoG for mine and looked an AFL player playing WAFL. Couldnt quite get through the game without a Banners moment from the top of the goal square though...
Emmett: Man he frustrates the hell out of me. If he could kick he'd be a fantastic AFL player but I'm not sure he had one effective kick today.
Brodie: Like Banners, looked like playing a level below what he should. Great tackling today
Reidy: Ysaye's comparison to Martin is spot on. Best game of WAFL for him against a good opponent. Cant help but feel the speed may always restrict him but there is a bit to like
Stanley: Still very effective whenever he got the ball but found a bit hard to get near it. I was watching closely and he did get ignored a bit. A preseason will do him wonders
O'Driscoll: Fantastic work rate today, felt like he was everywhere. Sometimes took on a bit much but I dont mind that. Level below the best players today but enough to know he's still a good player just needs a preseason.
Williams: Kid has everything you want in a footballer, speed, composure, skills, just the physical size and tank has a long way to go. I hope it doesnt hold him back because it would be a shame given the talent he has. Doesnt lack for attack on the ball either which is impressive given how tiny he is.
Hamling: Monster down back, stopped everything
Davies: I cant sing his defensive growth enough. Has an uncanny ability to know where to be and how to play the contest. His disposal can be hit and miss but importantly is not from lack of composure which I like
Colyer: Better than last week and provided some good run, hopefully helps Peel win a flag

Finally, Dan Curtin is going to be an absolute monster and if we cant get him through the GC pick I hope like hell North take him and we can steal him back in a few years to replace Pearce

Yeah really good signs with Reidy’s movement around the ground, marking and hitting the scoreboard. Best game yet comfortably.

Banfield very good outside of the howler and Brodie was big inside in the second half with his hands elite out of stoppage.

Solid games from Hamling and ODriscoll too and Emmett was good albeit butchered it a bit.

Arguably Peels best win of the year given the sides in paper.

Naturally.

Old Bull Young Buck

Ysaye is gonna collar you for spelling Curtin wrong.

For those interested:

Banfield a cracker of a game.
Tabs I thought played well.
Reidy did some nice things. Claremont got a run on when Smith was in the ruck. I’d like to see big Knobel get another game before the year is out in tandem with Reidy. Certainly next year the two of them should play a lot more together.
Also thought Emmett was pretty good. Still needs to tidy up his disposal by foot.
Solid game from Brodie what I saw live and on highlights.

I think Tabs having watched more highlights is ready to come in for Corbett if they feel a change is necessary. Banfield to step up to replace Walters. Erasmus can stay as sub.

I'd like to see Erasmus play in the wafl finals. He needs to be qualified if he isn't already.
