I think we may need to play Knobel as first ruck if Darcy goes down rather than Jackson.as soon as reasonably possible. I like Odin ( from the little i have seen. Mainly colts), but Knobel is going to be a top line ruck by the looks. Odin looks more like a Reidy replacement.
Reidy was a forward who rucked a bit because they needed a ruckman in the VFl team he eas playing for. Hence the similarity to me.Nah. Odin Jones is a forward that rucks a bit. He’s nothing like Reidy.
Knobel has barely played any WAFL Seniors. He’s more talented than Reidy but it’s too early like it was with Meek in his first two years. The club knows it too - that’s why they recruited Reidy in the first place.
Knobel shapes as an excellent ruck…like really good at the tap stuff.
But he has the mobility of the QE2.
Lava is quicker
I guess big blokes can get slower as they get older, but last preseason Knobel really impressed with his mobility. Didn't see much of him this preseason unfortunately.Knobel shapes as an excellent ruck…like really good at the tap stuff.

Would agree with what I saw.Knobel in the best for Peel apparently.
Interesting seeing the name Scott Jones tossed around. I’m sure Knobel is more talented but Jones was also unbelievably slow. As in literally I could not believe he was that slow
Knobel is a WIP and needs to keep developing at Peel this year, definately can be a good player for us as his body maturesIn no way was I trying to say Reidy or Knobel was like Scott Jones when I through his name into the conversation.
Only that the logic between drafting Meek and Jones together in 2017 was similar to drafting Knobel and Reidy together in 2022.
It’s all about developing a decent depth ruck for 3-4 years time, whilst still still getting a ruck that has the body to compete at AFL level. Realistically Meek and/or Knobel playing in their first two years isn’t helping them or the club but the club also knows deep down Jones and Reidy aren’t AFL players even as depth.
I actually think Reidy is better than Jones and that Knobel will probably be better than Meek. Lots of development left for Knobel though.

Dont throw him to the wolves at this early stage, probably still 2 yrs away, just keep on the list and have Sandi work with him
Yes i know but surely we can get him back as a limited part time specialist (he brought Darcy along OK , not sure about his replacement McDonald, he might be good but why couldnt Sandi also help in that area)Agree fully. That’s why we drafted Reidy imo. Can’t have Knobel playing this early. It might be worth the risk next year with another year of development but playing with one ruck (if Darcy or Jackson are not playing) would be a genuine option.
Also Sandilands moved on twelve months ago.
Big Griff was better around the grounds, but he was a bit of a journeyman I spose. Knobel might get there, but seemed a bit ineffectual as I’ve seen him so far.Would agree with what I saw.
He reminds me a lot of John Griffen but a higher ceiling.
Plus one player who was named in the squad, albeit playing out of position and for the wrong team.Looks like everyone not named in the squad from a quick scan
*vs East Perth.
I was reading the WAFLW fixture, that's a clanger and a half.*vs East Perth.
They played South last week.
Pretty excited to see Peel play this year.
Hopefully Murphy thinks Teal suits him!!Very very keen to see Delean and Murphy.
Murphy especially is a beanpole but I'm eager to see how he develops.
Fingers crossed! I've gone from thinking Murphy was an odd selection to thinking he's actually pretty important part of the list long term. Here's hopingHopefully Murphy thinks Teal suits him!!
I'm super keen to see how Draper goes. I think he'll be a big improver this season. I'm hopeful Voss will kick a bag too.Very very keen to see Delean and Murphy.

'Tis but a scratch (match)You'd think they would give Cooper Simpson a run at Peel, and throw in someone else as an emergency on Sunday.
Potentially the game day experience, the prep, lead up, is a better learning tool than a meaningless peel scratchy? You'd think they would give Cooper Simpson a run at Peel, and throw in someone else as an emergency on Sunday.
