Will be tough to win from outside the top 4, but no team is really a standout this year. I wouldn't rule the lions out yet.

Depends on how you look at it. My view is that top four might be even more important than previously as it allows you a poor performance in week one, as well as a home final vs a 5-8 team in week 2 obviously.

If the whole top eight are flaky, how could you trust a team to win four finals in a row vs other top eight teams? My team looked like world beaters for a month then got their arses handed to them by a bottom eight team.

Sydney and whoever finishes 2/3 should be strong favourites for the flag. They have a margin for error in a year where every team seems to need one.
