There doesn't appear to be a thread for these player v player/s questions yet whereas on the SC forum the equivalent thread is very popular. So I'll get the ball rolling with:

Parker vs Shiel + $24k

Both seem like good options but I'm leaning towards Parker because I think he is more dangerous than Shiel when resting forward. I can't really use the extra 24k to improve my team as well. Thoughts?

I agree with Parker over Shiel, like you say 24k isn't enough to justify picking Shiel, plus he has a great ceiling as shown by his game in round 7 last year against Geelong, the problem is he doesn't get 30+ disposals often enough, he's a lock when he has forward eligibility but he's not consistent enough for a mid only spot in my opinion.

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on Jack Steven vs Scott Pendlebury, both round 13 bye, both top end priced, both expected to be top 10 mids again this year, who do you pick?

EDIT: Bye rounds are 13-15.

Round 13 bye, mate...don't get set for the byes too early!

Pendles for me.

He's had 6 consecutive years averaging 105+, tagged every week these days and it has little or no impact on his scoring. I'm not concerned about the talk of him playing behind the ball - did so against the Cats in round 22 last year and posted a lazy 142 DT points.

Steven doesn't have the scoring history and I expect he'll see more attention from opposition coaches this year. Tagged by Viney in round 17 last year, scored 87.

I like Parker in this comparison, too. Both susceptible to taggers - Parker 71 against Carrots round 9 last season, Shiel 56 against Jacobs round 12. However, Parker less likely to be tagged with the quality players around him - Hanners, JPK, Jack. With Treloar gone, I see Shiel as the number 1 midfield target for opposition coaches to control - he's such a damaging player if allowed to run free, a real gamebreaker.

Nathan Wilson v Jacob Weitering

Go look again, I said both to Hall and Gray.

I said neither to KK or Birchall, and neither to Gibbs or Viney !!

Not sure your point?

Hall and Gray are underpiced and have gone 130+ this year and last

Edit: I'm so sorry, I have been drinking tonight :$

Houli v Laird v Suckling?

I need one dammit :p
You know you're going to get 85 out of Houli, plus he's extremely durable.

Laird is a kid still, so don't quite know his role effects his scoring ability

Houli is the safer pick out of the two, but Laird has the potential upside

Cheers.

For some reason I feel like Laird still has a bit of risk .

Ive got laird and houli i selected laird first but i get this feeling with yarran there houli will do what ever he wants...

D.Menzel or Oliver (move kerridge forward)
Libba or Graham

Oliver could literally be anything and is cheaper. Menzel coming off 4 knees, surely he'll be managed at times this year.

Graham has the form and continuity and actually went at about 1ppm last year. Libba probably won't come into his own until about mid year.
