2nds Port Adelaide vs WWT Eagles - Round 8 @ Alberton

Sunday June 4th 2:10pm at Alberton Oval. Streaming on the AFL website/app.

Pending the injury list: For the AFL side, Boak (ribs), Marshall (concussion), Dixon (quad) all should be assessed, (Jonas also returns from suspension) their availability could push players down here.

Fantasia is targeting to return in this game. Clurey was a late out last week due to a back injury and won't play. Hugh Jackson took a week off as an emergency, so he could play here as well.

Nathan Barkla will miss due to a 1 game suspension.

We will also gain Quinton Narkle via the mid-season draft and he'll make his SANFL Debut.

Note: This game is the day after the AFL game so the sub (EG: Sinn) can play.

After losing to North Adelaide, we drop to 7th spot. Just percentage out of the top 5.

Does the snafl still have that stupid rule that precludes a mid-season draftee from playing against his old club? Just in case we draft Zane Williams.

Last time we had to seek permission from Sturt and they said yes because they didn't want to get in the way of McEntee's development.

If we made finals however, that could be a different story.

Yea that's the most childish rule in Australian sport.
It should be waived simply because we can still lose guys like Luke Surman to our arch-SANFL rivals for nothing mid-season.

It's laughable in another sense that guys like Moore & Young wouldn't even choose to live in Adelaide if they'd not gone through our system. Grow up you benefit from us all the time you dinosaurs.

Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas has been overlooked for AFL selection this week despite being available. Jonas will play in the SANFL in his return from his second suspension of the season. Coach Ken Hinkley said on Thursday it was a big call but Jonas knew the decision was good for him to get some form.

Teakle out with foot injury.

Predicted Maggies Changes:
IN: Evans, Jackson, Fantasia, Mead, Jones, Lord, Bonner, Narkle
OUT: Teakle, Barkla (Suspended), Weidemann, Turner, Short, H.Ferrari, Kirk, Cheesman

Predicted Maggies Side:
F: Fantasia - Scully - Visentini
HF: Evans - Lord - Narkle
C: Bonner - Moore - Mead
HB: Jones - K.Marshall - Sinn
B: McCallum - Pasini - Burgoyne
R: Hayes - Dumont - Jackson
INT: Hagan - Montgomery - Lee - Szust

So, looks like you have to fit Tom Jonas into the predictions Ross ? If Narkle plays I reckon he will get plenty of game time. Of course if Fantasia is selected there is likely to be an early opening. Jonas will fit nicely into that backline and give it some experience.

If those who are up for fitness tests all get through it will be a strong side.

Possible placings-

F: Hayes - Scully - Fantasia
HF: Evans - Lord - Narkle
C: Bonner - Moore - Mead
HB: Jones - Jonas- Sinn
B: Lee - Pasini - Burgoyne
R: Visentini - Dumont - Jackson

INT: K.Marshall -McCallum - Hagan - Montgomery

With AFL sub TBD, I think we look a bit more like this:

FF:SzustScullyHagan
HF:OrazioHayesEvans
C:NarkleJacksonMead
HB:BurgoynePasiniSinn
FB:MarshallJonasMcCallum
R:VisentiniDumontMoore
INT:ShortLeeWeidemannMontgomery
EMG:KirkFerrari

Injury List of:
Boak
Dixon
Duursma
Clurey
Teakle
Georgiades
Sutcliffe
Barkla

Starting to look far stronger. Boak and Duursma coming back into the Power side in coming weeks would make a huge difference to the quality and chances of this group.

I'm predicting Sinn as sub.

If those 5 are being dropped from the 23 who played against Richmond, who is coming into the AFL side?

Error in the teamsheet, Montgomery is not listed as an out, but is not listed in our team or Norths reserves.

Maggies Changes:
IN: Jackson, Fantasia, Narkle, Francou
OUT: Sinn (AFL Emergency), Teakle (Foot), Barkla (Suspended), Cheesman, H.Ferrari, Lee, Montgomery

Maggies Side: (4 to drop in, 1 to drop out)
F: Hayes - Scully - Szust
HF: Hagan - Weidemann - Fantasia

Francou in is a surprise.

Looking at his stats, he was BOG for Norths reserves last week, has been hit or miss by the looks.

This is a pretty reasonable reserve side.
Narkle can push for selection
Wolverine stiff to be still playing Sanfl could make our afl side better.
Dante building and close to being a Ruck option.
Marshall/Scully on the rise possibly the 2 most important players we need to work their way into the mix next year.
