Nicks would make a good defence assistant coach at any club.

He has that Sydney scrap hard and shutdown mentality he had as a player at the Swans.

There are several ex coaches of 3 to 5 years who have made good assistant coaches before and after they were the head coach and havent tried to be the main guy after they were a head coach.

Why am I not surprised.

I don’t rate our assistant coaching team and I thought Nicks was quite good as an assistant but he simply hasn’t had the cattle to get it done as a senior coach at Adelaide.

I’d have him ahead of Cornes, Goldsack, kelly and Hartlett. Not exactly an inspiring assistant coaching panel and we seemed to have lost the ability to attract anyone decent from interstate.
