ROB is 100 times the player Strachan is lmao. This club is utterly clueless.

Are they really trotting out the injuries as an excuse. Tex saying you might not like it, but its facts. Come on mate, your club has had a pretty good ride. Injuries have only come in the last couple of weeks to Crouch, Tex and Rankine. No different to any other club at this time of the year. God they just lost to a team with 1 win and 15 injuries.

Robert Shaw got Peter Caven over from Sydney, having previously coached him at Fitzroy. He played in their two premierships as well.

Who had struggled to get a regular game at Sydney in two seasons there, and was only famous for getting his face caved in by Tony Lockett.

Perspective.

If port adelaides sanfl teams had played in the vfl how many premierships could have they won?

Ahhh, the happyclappers.

Where to be negative about Hinkley’s acumen and the team’s chances (armed with 12 seasons of evidence) is a cardinal sin.

But to be defeatist (“it’s not the SANFL anymore, we’re a minnow in a big pond!”) and denigrate the club’s history (“there were only 10 teams! how many would Port have won in the VFL?”) is a pious virtue.

I know this isn't the point but every picture on social media now looks like it has been run through multiple AI filters. At least he has the normal number of fingers.

Like this one? (Weird ear but)

I'm certain that The Big Texan™ can't see the irony in blaming injuries for a loss to Richmond.

Getting away from the double barrel question and just giving an opinion the big Vic clubs used to poach players from all over Australia and had truck loads of money (Pigs Arse) example.
Teams like Carlton and Essendon won premierships solely on that criteria.
If we had someone with a lot of cash to throw around like an Allan Scott type we would have been very competitive.
Can’t see why we wouldn’t win flags if we had the right backing.
Plus a lot of port players that became champions in the VFL would have played with us.

Yeah, the thing about these weird historical counterfactuals that strain to point out how allegedly easy Port had it when not exposed to the big bad VFL is, they never seem to accentuate the positives which Port would come armed with.

A packed Alberton Oval as a proper home ground.

Access to most, if not all, of SA as a recruiting zone.

U17-to-League player indoctrination/development/tactical education.

Would it have been more difficult? Of course. Would we have been successful? Does Ian Maurice sh¡t in the woods?

Looks like the fun times are coming to an end. A time to grieve and reflect and wait for their next stuff up.

A 6-5 vote, the Port supporters nearly blocked it again :D

Have a little faith. They can still stuff up the build.

They seem to be right on edge with funding it so don't be surprised if a cost blow out leads to a half arsed build.

Either that or they uncover toxic waste or a first nations heritage site.

Might have to bury a few bones there.

Had to look up why old mate John was offended and am none the wiser ...

The AFL has stood by its head of umpires Stephen McBurney after CFMEU boss John Setka threatened to cost the league millions of dollars if it did not sack the former building watchdog, claiming he was “anti-worker” and seeking to link the union campaign to players getting unwarranted 50-metre penalty kicks.

Well Olsen is a Liberal Pollie remember, so he already hates Unions.

And the ABCC was his buddy's anti-union policy.

Oh wait wrong John. Its because of McBurney's previous job as the head of the ABCC, a commission set up by the LNP to fine Unions.

Yeah, nothing to do with Olsen or the Camry Crows in particular. That's just the way The Advertiser spun the story.

The Union movement would get a much better reception without John Setka.

“Sack the umpiring boss or we won’t built AFL projects”. Talk about a massive over reach from a guy who is known for over reaching. Just makes him look like a bigger fool than what he already is.

This is literally his quote, real professional:

“We have an obligation to pursue anti-union, anti-worker f--kers like him and we will until the end of the earth,” Mr Setka told The Australian.

“This is going to cost the AFL a lot of f--king money. I hope it’s worth it. Projects without our full co-operation are going to be a f--king misery for them.”

“They will regret the day they ever employed him.”

McBurney’s not even in the industry anymore.

I had figured that much out, it's the link to 50m penalties that has me a little perplexed.

The AFL 'hitting back' with 'McBurney's done an excellent job' makes me think they don't even get Part 1.

Maybe the AFL should consider assisting Setka's ex with her 'ambitions'...

And it would have been run by Port People not Mr Sunrise @ The Cash Cow.
