Does anyone know how Port went Friday in there practise match. Haven't heard a thing. Very curious how some of the youngsters faired.

How hard is it for one of the official at the club to do a little report on a weekly bases.

As far as I know, this Friday is our first practice match
Port v Willy at 2PM,Victoria Park on Friday (27th)

As I understand it, both VFL sides will about 10 AFL listed players. This will be Ports first real hit-out, and after this game, practice matches will shift to a normal Saturday/Sunday fixture.

Apparently Port played Sandy in a practice match last weekend. Neither club had the game listed on their practice match schedule, so it may have been hastily arranged.

This match is really a Kangaroos practice match, as most of Port players will be working I guess.. about 8 Port players, the rest made up from Kangaroo listed players.

I'll try and take some notes :)

Go Roos 2004 !!

Hamish McIntosh rucked for a bit and was also good up forward
Kris Shore led and marked well kicking a couple.
Michael Stevens ran through the midfield and looked ok.
John Baird (I think, who's no 7 on your list?) was good across half-back.

Heard his name mentioned, but I can't say I would even recognise him.. I didnt link him to a jumper number.

The practice game between Frankston and Port Melbourne has been shifted. The game will now be played at LaTrobe University, Bundoora (Melway Ref 473 A5) on Sun. March 7th. Being the first proper practice match, there should be team lists available.

Interested to see where they play Callum Urch in that one. What position do you guys see him playing this season?

Spoke to a bloke who was at that game and he reckons Joel Perry was on Anthony Rocca and did a very good job. He said the club is starting to get pretty excited about him considering he hardly played last year while doing his VCE. He also said Blake was pretty impressive, and Trotter would play at some stage later this year. He also described Chad Jones as 'freak'.

On the flip side, he seemed a bit worried about Kris Shore and Hamish. He said Hamsih just appeared to be cruising and didn't want to get in and do the hard stuff, while Kris didn't look like he'd developed at all from last year.
