“Touch and go for round 1” would be a bloody miracle

Simmo please...we've all seen this script before

I Dont Believe You Will Ferrell GIF

My expert opinion and I've got sound knowledge on all things ankles.
Ive also seen the footage and believe Darling should be back running in two weeks. Rumour is that Darling has a thing called instant pain syndrome hense the screaming but once it calmed down Darling heals pretty quick. After talking to a few around the club Darling often screams in pain with injuries. One club official I spoke to said he stubbed his pinky toe and the scream from that was deafening. They were about it call an ambulance until the realised hang on it's just a pinky toe and not that bad.
My expert opinion on Jack Darlings ankle was probably the closest. Never doubt my expert knowledge of all things ankles.

Touch and go for round one……. Argh isn’t that Eagles speak for he should be available in the second half of the season.

Forgive me, but I don’t believe much that’s spewed out our Clubs mouthpiece, as history has shown time and again that their spiel is deceitful and not to be trusted.

Getting increasingly cynical as decrepitude approaches at a scary rate.
I was relieved until I read this and remembered that Allen was supposed to ne right for rnd 1 last year.

If indeed Darling has avoided surgery, that is a brilliant outcome. But the cynic in me cant help but envisage a scenario illustrated below, its happened just too many times at our club:

Injury List: Return to play
Darling: 5 weeks
Darling: 4 weeks
Darling: 3 weeks
"Jack is ramping up his training nicely!"
Darling: 2 weeks
"set back/taking a conservative approach/hasn't quite come up)
Darling: 3 Weeks
Darling: 2 Weeks
Darling: 1 week
"Oh sh*t, our medical team has advised that Jack does need surgery after all!"
Darling: TBT (for about another 2 months)

To be honest it might have been better for everyone if the club said that they had no idea when he would return to play. Because if it hits round 1 and Jack is still nowhere near it, and requires surgery after the club said that he wouldn't, it just looks poor all around

"In the end it was a pretty easy decision [not to have surgery], but we wanted to take our time with it all, get the scans back, get the right reports, and then make a decision today."

Sounds like they did all they could to confirm surgery wasn’t necessary

Sounds like he would make an excellent South American soccer player. Those guys go down like they have been shot.
