Not that I intend on making a habit of helping you prove your point but this is another photo of Long from todays session

View attachment 1585076

Not the same definition but he isn’t looking quite like the 16 year old schoolboy he did when he first arrived about 6 weeks ago

I thought (and posted earlier in this thread) that he was a long shot to play this year. Now I’m not so sure, he could get an opportunity once he gets used to playing against men
Generally small forwards can come in and impact reasonably early , draft position also matters less than other positions i think

A lot can change due to camera quality and lighting.

The first looks like a blown up blurry version of Long from a distance, running laps covered in shade, also wearing a T-shirt.

Second is a higher def camera from 5m away in pure sunlight, with his pipes out.

People read too much into each photo that comes through this thread. A few years ago there was one of Shuey looking pasty, with a bicep that looked like it had zero muscle on it, the furthest from flattering. Low and behold season rolls on and Shuey is as much of a strong ball of muscle as ever.

I bet your mirror/lighting set-up at home is on point.

I've got a funny feeling about Trew this year. I think we finally start seeing him dominate some WAFL games and put his true potential on display.

Perhaps having some higher end, driven young talent entering the fold has given him the rocket he needs to succeed.

From what I've seen of him training, it's good signs. Not sure of his ceiling, or who to compare him to. But he could be a very handy extractor.

Rhymes with Leaden Erasement ;)

In all seriousness maybe a J. Lyons? Can see a few seasons of being a really good extractor as you say, before being overtaken at some point by players with more points of difference.

Don't see the sky being the limit but hopefully can give us a few good AFL quality seasons

Biggest thing in Long's favour for an early season debut is inconsistency in our small forwards. Ryan and Cripps are a lock if fit. But look at who he's competing with for a spot.

Petch = permainjured
Jones = defender, or Simo never liked him fwd
SPS = always goes missing
Winder = due in court

All Long has to do is put in the hard yards and he's a good chance.
You're forgetting budgie Burgiel. Smart forward who can play mid minutes.

Might be unpopular on here but I remember nearly every game Jackson Nelson would get pinged HTB inside our oppo 50.

He'd try and break a tackle thinking he’s Yeo but they absolutely nail him everytime.

Gun player and smooth as silk but it's just a memory I have of him whenever he got the ball deep in our back pocket I'd get ready for it
Just a quirky little memory I have of him

Ginbey and Hewett are too young for inside mids at AFL level . They may have the heart but they could get broken very quickly . That Gold Coast kid Powell was put in too early .
That Harley kid underage at Colts level was playing on a back flank and that was wise . The talent is there but just wait a bit for the body heh.

To me, Hewett is pretty balanced so can start outside. That’s why he’ll play more than Ginbey early.

Three weeks is not enough time to put on significant muscle. It's either better lighting aided by the tan (to show more definition), or he dumped a bunch of body fat and got a bit more ripped.

Thank you, finally someone with some knowledge!!

Who’s to say he didn’t just get a 45 minute pump in the gym prior to taking the bottom photo

Hurn started 2006 still going 2023 and contributing well.

When Bunga debut I was at a stage of my life I was discovering hair in places i never had before and now I’m at stage of my life where I’m finding no hair in places I should be having hair
Definitely his time, just hope he can take the next step.
Xon coming into 2023

The Eagles ability to make and save money everywhere they can never ceases to amaze me. Above: slow motion = double the footage for half the price.
Let’s just hope it actually was in slow motion

FYI - The next stage in life is discovering hair in places you shouldn't have hair…
