Looks like Neddy needs to give up fulltime footy and take up fulltime fishing..

He’s clearly a lot better at fishing than he is playing footy at this point.

He should get onto Dangerfield and team up for their own fishing adventures show..

It’s pretty well known that Peds likes a drink

Has that country larrikin , on the edge have fun thing that Tex had as a young fella

I guess it’s a fine line between harmless and unprofessional but they gotta have lives and a happy player is a better player
Yeah, TBH these types of stories about young lads getting on it at this time of the year doesn't concern me all that much.

I want the players at my club to also have personalities and lives. And walking down Hindley St with a bit of a wonky sway in the step is a right of passage for young Adelaidians.

Having crossed paths with a young gun staggering along Rundle st at midnight it got me thinking, what’s expected as professional standards?

Fair game blow off steam get pissed on a sat night in PS, or on the middle of what burgess said is the hardest 2 weeks of training they will do to set themselves up for the year that that’s a sign of unprofessionalism and a small flag?

It's not ideal, to be honest. I'm not so much concerned about the alcohol in his blood system, as an AFL player staggering through the city at midnight. There's a lot of shit that can happen there, especially if you're a public figure. People will look to make a name for themselves at your expense.

If Peds wants to have a few drinks to blow off steam during preseason, perhaps try to do it at a mate's house or something?

Neddy is a good ol fashioned country lad not one of them soft inner city elite private school boys. His old man played for Wangaratta and kicked 150 goals one season. Great bloke old fashioned and loved a bit of biff. Could have a beer with him.
Why didn't he pass on his goal kicking skills to Ned...

If you haven't spent 12 hours violently throwing up after a servo hot chicken hero you haven't lived!
Remember when the “gravy” in them used to turn into this funny light brown jelly type substance…

it looked a bit like the crap your dog does when the poor bugger has a bad case of the runs..

I just received exclusive video of him the next day

That's nice but I'd rather a private school toff that plays football well than a country bloke that's shit.

This is spot on. Nothing wrong with it and 99% of the time it's fine.

It's not just AFL footballers who have to make choices about what they do in their spare time. Plenty other professions require choices for a whole lot of reasons.

Naming of the Sub

The sub will continue in 2024, and in an amendment to the announcement of teams, Clubs will now name an extended interchange bench of five players and three emergency players.

The sub will be confirmed 60 minutes prior to the match.

So its the same as 2023. 4 and a Sub. What is the amendment. Teams in 2023 already announced 5 players on the bench and 1 hr before the game announce the sub

They used to name 24 + 3 emergencies, and the sub came from the emergencies.
Now they're naming 25 + 3, and the sub comes from the 25.

Don't you mean they used to name 18 on field, 4 on bench and 4 emergencies, and now it is 18 + 5 + 3, with the sub coming from the 23, (presumably, but not necessarily from the 5?)

No they didnt. They always name a squad 26. 4 emergencies and the sub came from the emergencies.

Now it looks like they name 3 emergencies but the sub comes from the 23
