I don't reckon he'll get a game.
He’s a hard one to judge imo
Pretty decent as a medium/small shutdown defender but not good enough to push one of the established guys out of the side or tall enough to play key position

But seems Dimma also has a soft spot for him and likes his hard edge

Our ball movement creates the illusion of speed/pace. We've never been a notoriously fast team in terms of volume of quick players on the list.
Fully expect our game style to look just as good, if not better with Taranto and Hopper in the mix.

I actually think we've been one of the quickest sides going around. When you look at all other sides, no one has express pace in onballers so not sure why experts are bringing it up with us? Look at the pies with pendles, Adams, Sidebottom. Crisp is their quickest mid and until last year he was playing off HB.

Go through every midfield in the comp and you'll find none of them have express pace, you dont need express pace in ball winners anyhow, you need one or two dynamic ones who roll through and the pace is on the periphery which we have in abundance.

Our lines have Broad Balta and grimes who are extremely quick for talls, then you have Rioli and short breaking lines. Baker doesnt have express pace but he's not slow. Pickett, Macca and HRS have good pace, Bolton, junior and Cumberland are dynamic/explosive. We're one of the faster sides going around imo

That’s surprising, thought Narkle was over the line. What podcast?
Bradke must be impressing Dimma and co if that’s the case. No State league form to judge him on
Duuuuude, that actually hurt. :(

Inside mids don't have to be that fast as long as they can distribute it. Bont, Pendelbury, Cripps, Parker, Stelle, Wines, Boak, McCrae, etc.
Petracca, Neale, Touk Miller and Crisp are pretty quick ones (I'm sure there are a few others,) but as you say ball movement is far more important.

So what is Barrett trying to say, it doesn't make sense. If we get hands on the ball which we will with Hopper and Taranto, then our other mids are plenty fast enough, Martin, Bolton, Prestia, Mac, Pickett, Short etc.

A Hallmark of our premiership teams was also endurance, we seemed to have more in the tank than oppos and regularly ran over them in the last quarter. We seemed to have lost that last year and ended up fading in lots of games

2017 especially in the back half of the season
The 3rd qtr we would seemingly have another gear and break oppo sides after games feeling pretty tight until half time

No matter how fast you are a handball or a kick is always faster. Thought it was common knowledge that slick ball transfer to an outside player > grabbing the ball running 3 steps and hacking it forward.

There is something to be said for breakaway speed, Dangerfield and Judd for example. But they come along once a generation and they were not great users of the ball anyway. Judd was pretty good I guess. So inside mids with real toe are valuable but rare. Richmond will be much harder at the ball which was a serious problem last year or so.

Wise guy huh?

Does anyone have any clues as to how Bauer is travelling? Is he showing anything in the pre-season?
they are good shavers, although I prefer philips as it gets those weird little hairs that nothing but a razor can cull

Errr ceasers report about players in rehab doesn’t sound great.
Hopefully the club isn’t bullshitting about managing some of them but Prestia now been in rehab group for 3 weeks and lynch still there with grimes
