Training Pre Season '24

BigFooty therapists are judging the state of Cumberland's mindset based off of a training report and are suggesting resolutions thinking they have it all figured out.

Crazy stuff. This is just me, but I reckon maybe leave it to the professionals.

-Nank will miss the Pies game and is in a race to be fit for the Suns opener, has a foot issue.
-Lynch will get a month long mini pre-season. Blues game is still the goal but could easily be round 2 (3?) against Port.

why did we make a guy whos always injured captain

also would be silly to play him round 1 now with no match fitness

thats mint but nank and big sexy might both not play round zero

Very true, but it’s okay we’ll have Grimes in the team ;)

Usually captain and vice sit either side of the coach yeah? It was Nank and Lynch either side of Yze with Dusty next to Lynch.

grimes no good

Short lead the team out in the practice match against melbourne so he might be the one to captain the team in the absence of Nank and Lynch, but we did have a lot of senior players out that day (Martin, Taranto, Baker etc).

I was excited when we got Naismith. The Mrs (Swans) confirmed how good he was pre his knee injuries. He was really good against Gawn so why not have him in as 1st choice ruck against Suns. I'm going with a mate on Tuesday for the Pies praccy so I'm hoping we play Naismith for say a half then chuck in Ryan for the other half. All about keeping Naismith cherry ripe if needed in Round zero. I agree with a few other posters here, he's done everything in preseason to earn a call up.

That’s exactly how I see it… needs a mentor that he fully respects and looks up to by his side

Club should recognize and assist with this and I’ve got no doubt he will crush

Purely mental with Cumbo but the best thing is you know he wants it badly
Cumberland seems to start well then drift out of the game. I suspect that he needs short stints in the midfield or something to involve him in the game to reset his brain
