I'd be almost certain they'll be training at Wembley tomorrow although they usually start at 9.40 on Mondays rather than 9.00

There's no fencing at Wembley so anyone can watch if they want - it baffles me why they don't just drop the pretence of saying it's not an open training session as it serves no purpose.

Yeah I thought so and same with me haha if it's a public oval you can't be stopped from going in. Cheers for your help!

Ok then, this is how I see him...he is a half back flanker for a reason. If he had genuine grunt he would be in the midfield for his size but he is the kind of player that's ok until a better prospect comes along, lets be honest he aint no Barrass and he doesn't even compare to what Wirrpunda gave us in the backline. He might be going into my new shit-truck list of players we need to move on, now its looking like Mastobator is on the outer :)
you talk so much shit m8.

He ain't no Barrass...

Why would he be?

You've made your original post look good when compared to this diatribe.

Amazing effort.
So you've just compared him to a KPD and the best back pocket in our history

There's some issues with our side no doubt but Sheppard isn't one of them

And him not being a midfielder is irrelevant when he's shown he can play good football as a defender. Wirrapanda wasn't much of a mid either for the record
I am glad you lads have my boys back, i spewed in my mouth reading that post.

Good, I'm doing my job then. Keeping you fanboi's honest in here, btw you all know I was totally right with the terrible 5 and when Masten fails to make the regular list you can all bow down to the undeniable truth and tonight I have started my new shit-truck 5 list of players who have to no longer be in the 22 for us to succeed.

1. Sheppard
2. Hill
3. Butler
4. Hutchings
5. Jetta

Masten has never had many fan boi's tho. I have defended him at times when his hate at times were unjustifiable. Scooter was B n F winner and if not for his ankle injury he would have remained a very handy player for us. Only shit truck player on that list was swift.

Only player i agree on that current list if Hill. I don't like hutchings but he has never been a b22 player and has found his way into the side because of injuries or poor form to supposed b22 players. Butler has been a great servant to our team in the last few years and like shep is a role player that does his job without flash and i believe that you need a few of them to win a premiership.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

No team can be filled with superstars. GWS is the closest thing to it and only because of their unique concessions - it'll never happen again.

Regarding those in your list; Hutchings has limited pace and evasive skills but is becoming quite a reliable depth midfielder who can also provide a stopping role, Hill sometimes goes missing and could very well be one of the final players picked in the best 22 (ie. yes he is likely on the "outer"), Butler is nearing retirement but has been very serviceable (ie. reliable and plays within his limitations, rarely makes mistakes even if he is not a damaging play-maker), and Jetta could do with a big year but IMO was under-utilised by other players in 2016.

But Sheppard? Back-up your "shit-truck" and throw in your bathroom mirror.

Sheppard was our best performed player in the 2015 finals series, and had another solid season last year. He only looks out of his depth when the midfield turns the ball over and our defence is caught on the hop. But that happens to every defender in every team with quick turnovers up the field.

Don't waste your time - responding to Tom dumb with logic and reasoning is like stabbing yourself in the eye with a fork and less enjoyable

"All Australian" David Hart wasn't bad!

Harty was good but I think Wirra was at a high level for longer

Both would have played as BP's for about the same period of time....... Dufe had a couple of great years as a rebounding backman. Wirra was very good too.... not disputing that! I really would not like to make the call between them.

Hypothetical, if Shep continues to perform how many years till he is in the above category? i actually think he can even still get better and have high hopes for his 2017.

Jetta could do with a big year but IMO was under-utilised by other players in 2016.

Couldn't agree more. The games I saw live Jetta made great position and was burnt numerous times. 30 metres out from goal with no one close to him , and still we went to Kennedy with 2 or 3 hanging off him in the pocket. Didn't look like our boys had bonded very well with him ?

For mine ..... he would have to have at least a year playing to the standard he did in the latter half of 2015 when added responsibility seemed to bring out his best.

I've seen some wacky-ass things in my time but Sheppard to the bench is a beauty. Who are we going to replace him with, Wanganeen?
Completely agree. The games I saw live last year he made great positioning and was burnt numerous times. 35 out from goal almost directly in front with no one around him and still we try to hit up Kennedy with a couple of defenders right up his clacker deep in the pocket. Doesn't appear the players have bonded to him that well? Hopefully with a year together that will have changed.

Every team has a good player that media or opposition fans don't value as much as we do but are under the underrated cartogary. Shep definitely falls into that. As a defender he as good as many of the best mid size defenders in the comp but in a game that revolves around stats he doesn't fair too well in that department and gets overlooked because of it. I'm not overly concerned of Shep does become more of a ball winner but that's probably the only area that he could improve to take his game to the next level.

Shep and Wellingham seemed to be more attacking in 2015 than they were last year. Whether that was by design, form or just a product of us being on the back foot more often I am unsure.

When the midfield stepped it up in 2015 our backline was under less pressure which allowed Wellingham and Shep to be more attacking options. They were still good in 2016 just not as creative.
