At least I now know why Fraser hasn't performed as we all hoped...

Seems like one of the real good guys. Hope he has a decent season in the WAFL, I can see him either being a handy back up for another season especially with Petrie likely to be done and no real forward depth yet. Or for his sake getting a longer contract at another club.

Guess there was no training at Wembley today?
I drove past at 12 and they were still there training, so either a late start or a long session. Were gone when I went back 40 something minutes later but they definitely trained today.

Monday's start at 9.40 which would explain why they were still there st 12

From older heads and conversations he doesn't get mentioned as sublime as Wira. Don't get me wrong most people who I talk to will say he was a champion but not sublimely champion :p

Fair enough. I can tell you that, as a back pocket, he was the the equal of Wirra. This was evident in him gaining All Australian status in that position. As a footballer he would be behind Wirra by a few "metres". Cheers.

I was 18 months old when he became an All Australian, thanks for the information. He is no Sheppard.
Cheers.

I like Shepperd just fine but Wirra was a much, much better footballer. Shepperd probably only has the advantage over Wirra in defending the high ball, one out...and possibly not even there.

As to Hart, I was too young to appreciate him probably and he sort of fell into the shadow of the big names down back. Jeebus, we had one hell of a backline then.

Criminal, its Sheppard.. not Shepperd.

AA is weird. It seems you need one cracking season to get on the radar and then if you back it up you get selected to the squad at least. Like most of the squad Shep only really showed glimpses in 2016 of the form he sustained through 2015.

I don't think he would have got AA in 2015 regardless of where he played TBH.

Question for you guys. If Sheppard played for Collingwood, would he have been an all Australian 2015.?
No. So far from it you should be embarrassed to be asking that sort of question. I can only put it down to you trying to out do Matt Bas in sponsors support.

Realistically, he had a great 2015 but failed to back it up in 2016. OK finish but not close to AA selection as he in not the best in that position and he has yet to put in 2 years at the AA level. Now if he can go back to his very best and deliver for all of 2017, then a definite maybe.

His failure to think on the field is his downfall. The rush in thinking shows up with poor execution at times which is due to slower reading of the play, unsure on options and hence rushing decisions and execution.

Wait a minute now, back up a bit. I've never said Masto should already be an AA. I've only said by the end of THIS season he will be a 4 time AA, Brownlow, Norm Smith, Premiership & Sandover Medalist.

Disagree, i even before i was Sheps sponsor thought he was criminally over looked in 2015. However that is a slightly bias opinion and i dont know the AA criteria.. i dont agree with the idea you need to have back to back good seasons to win an AA look at Stringer ect.

The Sheppard bullshit on this board is over the top ,he's ok but no champion ..
He's never ever even made a AA squad ..

Problem with Shep is that his best work is usually aerial - his ability to spoil and outmark taller KPFs is impressive because you wouldn't expect it from a guy of his size.

But he's not going to be selected in an AA side for his aerial defence, as this would normally be reserved for KPDs.

So he's competing with ground level lockdown small defenders and midfielders/accumulators who they can put in the back line.

1 v 1 on the deck, Sheppard isn't as effective, and he doesn't accumulate enough of the footy to win over stat oriented selectors.
