And strange the wedding is in Syd when Adam’s family is from Geelong and Ellie’s from Daylesford

Family members (or at least the ones you actually want there) would likely travel to the moon to be at your wedding

I guess as well since he was talking to Sydney while the premiership campaign was still going, he had a good intention he to be in Sydney. Probably a lot easier planning wise to have a wedding in the state you live with all the commitments you need to do in the lead up

Reef has another excellent session. They like the ball in his hands where he can use his pace to run

Agree that his pace should be a weapon. Just needs to get used to using it. When he first switched to defence he was a bit tentative (take possession and stop and survey options)
Hopefully through pre season he can develop confidence to attack the game and use his speed

I know we're all just doing a "look who's burning up the track" at this time of year, but Reef with a clean spoil on Mason Cox, gather of the ball, and then multiple give and go handballs as he runs up the field, is maybe the most natural I've ever seen him look as a footballer.

From memory Reef played his draft year in defence at the chargers and was pushed forward in the representative game where he kicked goals. Don't care where he plays, coaches need to pull their socks up and get it sorted....too talented!
His draft year was covid, so he didn't play any role. In his underage year he played a combination of defence and forward.

Bottom age year, there was no footy in his draft year. He played defence and a little forward, but stood out the most when he was thrown in the middle when the top agers went to play for vic metro.

Pre-season training: Friday November 22.

Week 2

Last day of training for the week before everyone joins in come Monday. And what a session it was. In the 35 degree heat this morning, the boys sweated through multiple running sessions - first to start of the session and then after 2hrs of training, they had a block of conditioning to end the session.

A lot of the seniors seem to be in sydney for Tay's wedding, so todays squad consisted of:

  • Lippa
  • Schultz
  • Houston
  • DeMattia
  • Parker
  • Allan
  • Fin
  • TJ
  • Smit
  • Steene
  • Hill
  • Ryan
  • Crisp
  • Reef
  • Beau
  • Sullivan
  • Johnson
  • Checkers
  • Dean
  • Long
  • Cox

Once they finished the first conditioning block, they got into some line drills. Looked like Houston was doing a bit of midfield work in terms of stoppages.

The rucks didn't partake in the running, nor checkers lol They probably felt it's more for the running types

Bit of transition in a long ground where they used more of the coridoor, which was nice to see. Sometimes I felt this past season we reverted a bit to the bucks game plan. Boundary play.

Reef looked impressive again. Gaining confidence possibly. They seem to like to have the ball in his hands, as he then used his pace to run off half back, and then moves forward to be a releasing kick inside 50.

Beau did a little CB work.
Parker got the wind knocked out of him, I hope that's all it was, in a contest. He was down for a while. Went off, but didn't return. Maybe they decided since there wasn't too much left of training to just leave it for the day.

Working through moving the ball faster, being more proactive and less stagnant.
