Im most excited about a fit and firing Sam Reid. Huge upside for us if he's up and going. He was a huge reason for us making the 22 GF. His sure hands and steady kick for goal made a massive difference for our structure and to have him and a hugely improved McLean would be awesome. Easily an upgrade on Amarty.

Agree about the potential upside - except that “fit” and “Reid” are mutually exclusive terms - hence I’ve learned to temper expectations.

Oh I know. I thought that as I wrote it but if a miracle could occur, I hope it's a fit Reid.

Also more information on the time trial!

It was a fast pace with Jake Lloyd, Nick Blakey, Braeden Campbell, Will Edwards, Matt Roberts and Justin McInerney all recording significant personal bests.

If Jake Llyod ran a PB I am surprised his not in the top 3! This is a great development as it shows our endurance improving across the board.

From a background shot in this report, it looks like they may have replaced some of the turf?

My mental fingers were poised over my keyboard to write "but those shots are Bat & Ball, doesn't explain Lakeside absence" until close to the end where I saw there was a shot of Lakeside weirdly interspersed into the report.

Then I starting thinking, "I wonder why they didn't do that earlier in the year so Lakeside would be ready for the start of pre-season". Until I realised that our women's team was almost certainly using Lakeside as their training ground while their season was still underway. So maybe it makes sense that they couldn't start any remediation work necessary until quite recently.

Given the state of Lakeside suggested by that shot, I imagine they'll be at Bat and Ball, or maybe in other locations throughout Centennial Park, for the two week block they have between now and the end of the year, hopefully to return to Lakeside in the new year.

Am now stuck thinking the lads are pre-training in the pub:D

Gee I gotta be honest here and at the risk of sounding like our beloved curmudgeon, I have got absolutely no idea what Frieza or DBZA etc is, you may as well be writing in Sanskrit!

DBZ is a very famous Anime (japanese cartoon)

Frieza is probably one of the most iconic villains in all animation (based on a real estate speculator).

Abridged is a fan copy of the show where they re-did all the dialogue and it's very funny.

Okie dokie then, I'll just have to take your word for it!

Seems that the partnership went bust and the venue is no longer around.

I said that before. Read the posts. The people were not running it as the Swans approved of & the club withdrew the rights to use the Sydney Swans name. They of course went broke because they now had no angle. No business. The Swans fans no longer went because thx club no longer backed the venue

Golly. I assumed there was a Swans supported place in Sydney that our folks could attend.

Surely there is a market of Swannies fans that Sydney publicans can cater to.
This already happens to a degree. But there is no benefit to the club in this. They just become Swans Approved venues. I mean any pub that choose, can put Swans games on as long as they either pay FOX or free channel it.

It doesn't necessarily mean the Swans fans will attend. Take the pub in Balmain, an approved venue. I went there for an away match with a couple of friends. We were the only ones watching. That was sad. Yet the next match I went to a non approved venue, my local GHD Orange Grove. There were more Swans fans there than at GHD approved venues.

This is why it would be good to have somewhere to go where the club is involved. By the way every Vic, SA & WA club has them.
