Actually the quote seems to be attributed to the real Marcus Aurelius, in his work Meditations; though I can't track down a translation that even comes close.

"Quod in vita facimus, in aeternum resonat"

I do know it was quoted by Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russ Crow) in the film 'Gladiator'.

I'm actually just pontificating now to stop myself chewing my finger nails down to the bone. ;)

Last two words translate as resonates for eternity

Feelings about an outcome of a game are just emotions.

People who said we'd never win another big game under Fagan now think we're going to knock off a team that's won 13 in a row in a Prelim 4 weeks later.

So best to have no expectations. What will be will be.

Friends, as we embark on a great journey, whose ending is as yet unwritten, let us rejoice in the forthcoming few hours.

Irrespective of your pre-match feelings, the reality is you'll be cheering LIONS come the opening siren :D

AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS :D

I
BELIEVE
:D

LIONS

Sounds like negative talk to me. Do I have to get mighty Lions in here?

At least when I log in here and read how others are feeling I can take some solace in the fact that I'm not the only one who loses their grip on reality due to a game of football...

I have clients with zero interest in AFL who are ringing and texting wishing us luck... I think I have broken them too!! It's hard to explain to people how 2 and a half hours of your life can override other priorities and emotions and provide either surreal escapism or pure agony... unless you're as mad as we are...

Best of luck boys, and thank you to our Vic brethren and those who travelled. You take our fanaticism with you. Go Lions!!
