The media reporting this finals series has been as shallow, and lacking in genuine analysis, as I can recall. And not just us, but Brisbane too. We both barely rate a mention.

Melbourne has been talked to death, and lost both finals. I timed AFL360 on Monday night, and the first 15-16 minutes was given over to Carlton, followed by 4-5 minutes of GWS, although their coach featured later in the show. But unfortunately with that permanent sulk and sook Chris Scott, who’d at least had his hair cut.

It’s unbalanced, contradictory, and seemingly incapable of analysing how we beat Melbourne and how we will apply that to GWS. And the superficial analysis feeds into the next superficial analysis.

Looking forward to the footy journos waking up on Saturday after our game and asking - what just happened?
Yep I suspect a bit of Mayor of Hiroshima too.

the GWS thread is 90% of oppo supporters saying they hope they smash us. It may as well be the main board 😂
I apologise if our board does this, but your a different kind of person to go on a nothing club forum on the internet to wish a whole heap of people you don’t know luck as history says you shouldn’t like a club

Different feeling about this one compared to the not so loud 2019 prelim, I think Fly and the boys have done well to take us with them and they understand us as the 19th man. Every pies fan I have spoken to has said they're going to be yelling their lungs out
The roar of our first goal will be out of this world.

Jezza Howe did very well to calmly endure Slobbo’s inane, off-topic ramblings.

I still find it inexplicable that Slobbo replaced the intelligent and articulate Mike Sheehan as the chief footy writer at The Herald Sun. Seriously, how?

because the herald sun believes robbo is the everyday man, its how little they think of their readers

Where did I say they wouldn’t actively try and manage it? Just as Collingwood has been actively managing only having played one game in almost a month, gws will be managing tight turnarounds and travel considerations.

They are arguably the most travelled side in the afl and have played at more grounds than anybody else.

If we beat them it will be because we are better than them and have a well deserved home ground advantage, as ladder position implies.

Who they played and where and when in the previous two weeks will have no bearing on the result.
As I said. Kidding yourself.

So Kingsley is saying Briggs will be “marginally” less than 100% when he runs out on Friday night.

I’m assuming we still go with two ruckmen and really try to take advantage, nullify what would have been a midfield strength for them. Our forwards and backline should give us an edge.

Don’t care about the media, it’s all about clicks and reactions.
What has genuinely surprised me is the number of supporters who’d rather the stench of blue win and not us.
WTF? We would never hear the end of it if they went to outright 1st on 17.
Absolute lunacy.

I agree. Having 2 rucks likely to dominate over an injured GWS ruck will be compensation for Tay. I would not be drawn into making one of the rucks a sub.

The hyperbole around the pretenders and the scum is hilarious.

After we won our qualifying final they talked about how that other team lost.

This week they are talking about how the semi final teams lost and how great the pretenders and scum are.

Heres the pretenders recent form

Beat the Suns in Canberra
Beat Bulldogs in Ballarat
LOST to Sydney at home ground
LOST to Port in Adelaide
Beat Essendon at home ground
Beat scum at Marvel (deadrubber)
Beat StKilda at MCG
Beat Port in Adelaide

They fell into the finals. They have been beating teams fighting for 7th and 8th spot. Thats it.

Every game has essentially been an elimination from the finals except scum dead rubber game which they had to win to qualify AND there are reasons why they got lucky playing injured teams. Importantly last two games have been bruise free for majority of the game. Of course they look fast and good transitioning against teams who are unaccountable. They also look tired in both last quarters.

Its hilarious the way the media are ignoring the top two teams. The narrative should be who stops Degoey, Daicos's Moore etc. How do they score against our team defence? The new superstars? Taylor and Buckley cant cover our magnificent team forward line. Lever and May couldnt!!

We have known for months this was our destiny. Jarrod Wade had players carcassed on the ground in time trials pre season. He managed training loads to impact and peak now. We know this.

Don't get sucked in by the media hyberole. Its a joke. We just win. We win. Win Win Win. No other outcome against this mob. We WIN.

Be confident everyone. Go Pies!!!
