Was just having a look at the clearances and permits on the cricket victoria website and there are a few interesting moves:

Liam Buchannon: Melb to Geelong

Grant Lindsay: Geelong to Footscray

Damian Shanahan: Camberwell to Geelong

Matthew Innes: Footscray to Richmond

David Alleyne: Richmond to Hawthorn (pending)

Also there are a few state players with new contracts like John Hastings who i've heard is heading to Footscray. Richmond also has signed an english county player Edwards.

Any other movements that people have heard? Who do you think has strong sides this year?

THE David Alleyne, tall slightly dark chap? Wicketkeeper? Cor blimey... Edwards.. Neil it must be... youngish Somerset opening bat, scored a tonne of runs alongside Tres and Langer at the top this season, i can see him doing well

Yeh Dave Alleyne, think he plays for Notts - but correct me if i'm wrong.

I've seen a bit of neil edwards bat and he seems a decent opener, will be good value in australia.

He doesn't any more, they've gave him his P45, he's only ever done one good thing for Notts and it's to deny Hants a victory last season. Is the Premier cricket over 2 days? 200 overs?

Edwards will do well in 2 day cricket, opens up and scores at a good lick at a good average. Will probably get Somerset promoted this season

He may go OK. Different game over here.

It will be interesting watching him

No. That Inness is now in WA.

theres:

Mathew Inness. Playing for WA... 30yr old opening bowler.

and

Matthew Innes. Playing in Victoria.... 23yr old opening bat.

Skidda was an Australian U19 that has been hampered with a genetic hip compaint for about 4 years now. Hopefully a change of scenery and his hip not going wrong will allow him to show us the best of him.
