Hoping people can help finish off this list of the people who have presented the premiership cup to the winning captain on grand final day. I have gained most of the early info from watching the Name a Game videos from a local store. It seemed originally to be the duty of the Governor of Victoria to present the cup, and then Bob Hawke did it twice, after which the VFL went with giving the honour to past legendary football personalities. If anyone can go back before 1966 that would be great, or tell me if I've made an error.

The first one in 1959 was presented by the state governor, Sir Dallas Brooks.

Collingwood. Oh wait sorry that's premiership pretenders :p

I'd love to see Lou Richards do it, seeing as he can't even get into the hall of fame :(

The 1967 Cup presentation mystery solved. Sir Kenneth Luke.

Thanks to Rhett Bartlett and his Rhetrospective Vault. Go to 2hrs, 11 mins and 50 s of this ABC broadcast to see Fred Swift, standing next to Polly Farmer, receive the cup from Sir Kenneth Luke

There is an argument that the 1979 Cup presenter was Jezza himself. If you watch the replay Jezza grabs the cup off some poor assistant before Sir Henry Winneke gets his hands on it :)
But I think we can keep Sir Henry in the official list even if Jezza did not have the patience to wait for the official presentation.

Actually that "poor assistant" is none other than Alan Schwab who was at the VFL at the time.
He tries to hand it to Winneke and Jezza takes it from him - so you could argue that Alan Schwab presents the 1979 premiership cup.
