Training Preseason 2024

I dare say we’re committed but sending Young back makes a ton of sense if we want our best players in the 22. Otherwise, is Drapes a chance to come in and give use some height?
I reckon they’ll do whatever they can to avoid Young going back and hard to blame them with how it looked last year. McDonald or Draper to play before they do that

Any chance we've got enough hard fit mids ready to play and we look skinny down back, to the point Young has to start back?

Or are we committed to Young as a mid?
Aish is moving to half back permanently. Then there is Clarke having a good pre-season and hopefully very soon as per my previous post Wagner. Walker according to JLo also likely to play next match sim.

From all reports Chapman was being mixed between wing and HB. I think more likely we see Michael Johnson to Wing - especially with Fyfe, Erasmus and Brodie all in the midfield mix along with Young. Worner is another but I’d let him keep developing at Peel.

Fight on between NOD and Sharp for the other Wing it seems.

It’s a terrible injury (let’s hope it isn’t too bad) for Chappy but he hadn’t locked in a position as yet for mine. A run of games at Peel will be required.

If Cox doesn’t get up Oscar McDonald is more than adequate replacement until Cox is ready.

Might be a little different looking backline to start the year but they can start to build that in the practice games.

How do you know this? I can't see it written anywhere, are you just saying this because it's what usually happens or is there an official report? You shouldn't post stuff like this unless a club official has said it
Not sure why I'm getting lambasted for passing on what turns out to be correct information. 🤔

Draper looks neat enough from what I’ve seen, but is untested and needs another preseason before he gets a start in the ones.

Hopefully Brodie has fixed up all his problems and can get back into the beast mode around stoppages again for us.
Apparently ,BOG this morning, which is good to hear.
Anyone got wny info on how Noddy went? Was he looking like he could get the wing spot. And how did Sharp go?

Nod was pretty good. Sharp showed lots I thought. Stanley was a bit non attacking though he did kick a nice goal.

A BigFooty guide to injury speculation:

Best:
"Watched it myself. [Player] showed symptoms of a hamstring injury and received the same treatment as you would for a hamstring injury. I think it's a hamstring injury, but the club will let us know."

Acceptable:
"Watched it myself. [Player] has done a hammy." (evidence not stated) <- You are here

Bad:
"Despite evidence that it's a stubbed toe, I'm going to call it a hamstring injury. That's just so dockery." <- mattis117 wants to avoid this
"I put two and two together out of nothing, and I speculate that [Player] has done a hammy (but I'll pass it off as fact), because they're so injury prone." <- and this
"The West said..."
"My Eagles supporting mate said..."

Hope that helps!

Brodie was great today. Very clean and worked hard. Sold some candy to set up one goal.

Noddy was ok. He worked hard, kicking was reasonable.

i thought Sharp was the pick of the wings. He works his arse off and his kicking was excellent.
