Both are ridiculous athletes. We are a touch insulated here. A reference point would be Jackson. Great athlete at his height in Australia. In the states he would be below average. Love the guy and think he will be a top five player league wide, but some of the comparison going on here is a bit foolish.

I think if a team's gameplan can be pulled apart in preseason or early season from vision, it can happen during the season from all the broadcasts. Better to know what doesn't work against opposition earlier rather than later and if it can be pulled apart quick enough, then it might not be the robust gameplan it's made out to be. I always believed the most successful plans are the ones that are obvious enough but still can't be countered.

Even more so when we’ve played the exact same gameplan for the past 3 years. I think the rock on the side of the road knows we work it to the wings out of defense and try to pick our way through the opposition zone with pin point kicking as they track backwards.

This is not particularly strong logic. Defence is almost always impossible when there are turnovers near the middle of the ground. Our defence works when teams can’t move the ball quickly. Chaos ball turnovers would likely lead to us getting scored on more unless we can score more than we get scored on.

That’s the point. Every defence looks good when the opposition can’t move the ball.

The point is that good defence is assessed when they don’t have an eternity to setup. Ie chaos ball and moving the ball quickly with more risk. Like all the top teams do.

The whole reason we can’t score is we don’t move the ball quickly enough. We don’t move it quickly because we are protecting the defence. We need to stop doing this.

It's comes under trying to generate profit from AFL images (including those of players) without permission. Players can't just go and get whatever sponsorships they want (especially ones that conflict with AFL ones) or appear in any shows etc. As with anything legal like that it's challengeable, but you'll need some cash to do it.

I think footage like this is classed as fan made and I'd outside the domain of legalese, revealing as it could be.

I absolutely love the fact you've put it up there. I was just outlining how it might be taken off and which party might do it. They took down all those draftee highlight vids. Totally agree it's an overreach to claim any profiteering.

As big a worry is YouTube rather than legal avenues, they don't take much nudging to bend over for a large corporate entity.

McCaffrey was one of the 49ers best today. Kelce didn't get much of it in the first half but played well in the second half.

These guys are athletic in a variety of specialised roles.

Just a thought but maybe the two teams had different game plans. One to move the ball quickly and the other to be a bit more slow and methodical.

I was actually thinking that. Would JLo try and demonstrate to the players what game plan works best by telling one team to move it quick and load it up with midfield bulls and the other team to be cautious coming out of defence. I think it is a stretch to far but if it did happen it would be a great way to learn.

I always found that sketch a touch off, amusing as it is, since in their version of football even less happens. I turned on the super bowl on Kayo for a few minutes today and it was 4 minutes of ads in play then the players literally just standing around while something arcane happened to total silence from the crowd. Silence in a final! It was, forgive me Roy and HG, surreal.

I went to plenty of football games in the US this year and the atmosphere is 100% better than our home games.

Way better to watch live as the tv really doesn't pick up the sound and the ground shaking when the away team is on 3rd down.

Hockey also has a great atmosphere with the added bonus of all the stuff you can do with an indoor arena a small playing surface with lights and projections.

I wish our home games were as raucous as NFL games or European football games, it's become so docile

Can you read a book or knit a scarf at an NFL game? Plenty of that going on at our home games
