I feel like Treacy is no where near established enough to be talking like he is... I hope he backs it up of course. We would be in for a killer year if he does.
KPF with a bit of confidence is exactly what we need.

Last thing we want is him bowing and scraping to everyone.

Love the comments about being an enforcer, it’ll lift the team especially in big games when you want to see your teammates up for a scrap.

He has things to prove, as many of our young players do, but can’t question his attitude or commitment.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he substantially increases his goal tally this year, if he can get over 30 then that would be awesome.

Treacy is an interesting proposition.
Having seen some of his best work in the WAFL & also close up how brilliant his field kicking can be at training I think he suffers from nerves at the top level, his normal strong marking & booming straight set shots disappear & he drops easy marks & misses set shots he makes look easy.

He was very young when drafted, had the Covid affected preparation in his draft year and generally has taken longer for his confidence to develop than some.

If he’s starting to believe in himself & can translate that onfield we may have a really good one.

Those little flashes where he’s dragged down hangers and drilled passes are tantalizingly impressive.

More power to him I say.

Did I say humble pie? Talk of leading the team though when he is only just in the best 22? Maybe talk about kicking goals or beating his opponent each week.
The quote is from the members meeting. They asked Amiss who was training the house down. He said Treacy, and spoke about how vocal he is on the track and the energy and intensity he brings. They then asked Treacy to follow that up, to which he reinforced that he wants to continue to be vocal and enforce strong training standards.

Not sure how you managed to turn that in to something negative.

Are you saying the West has misquoted him?

Did I say it was negative? Or is it possible there are more layers than positive or negative? I am fine with him saying he thinks 'I can be a major player'. I question the 'driver of not only (amiss and Jackson) but everyone else...

Love the confidence. And lock yourself in the B22 and win your position most weeks before you start talking about leading the whole team.

They took it out of context. It was him, Amiss, and Jackson on the stage. Those two credited him for being a vocal leader/driver in the pre season. Treacy was asked about it, and continued that he doesn't only want to drive those two players that just credited him, but wants to help instill that intensity and drive amongst the whole playing group.

You don't have to be a b22 to be a passionate and vocal trainer.

Did Fyfe actually run today? Just photos of him smiling and in slides. Would be nice to know the champ is training.
Fyfe is on a modified program. He did a lot of running yesterday. He pulled out of the match sim stuff and did running.

I’d expect none of those in rehab group that did quite a bit of running yesterday did much more that chill today.

You’re right, some players no matter their level or standard at any club are vocal & help bring enthusiasm & drive standards. It’s who that person naturally is, where some of the very best are quiet & let their actions do the talking.

Acres when he first arrived was very vocal & buoyant around the group & watching the Weagles train recently they were a very quiet group but Jake Waterman was particularly vocal & upbeat. The coaches were the main voices at their sessions, leading the players & encouraging them to bring the enthusiasm vocally.

Agreed, if he just keeps taking those marks (he seemed to improve as season went on) and more importantly, KICKS THOSE GOALS instead of points…

Don't even joke about this s**t.
Yes. Fall in line puny human!

On Treacy though, I'm full in on his progress so far. Could see the signs in his first year that he was something special, especially with the way he follows through with intent.
I know he hasn't produced in the way that some wish but I personally see him as one of the most influential key forwards, fully matured. Not talking an 80 a year type but 50 to 60 with desire to pressure and assist in the f50 more than the avg lunk imo.
His hands, yeah, I think they just need time to wear in.
I like my avatar.
