Training Preseason 22-23

Training is 9:30 on Wednesday and Friday this week at Skinner. I'll attend on Wednesday and leave a detailed report here. I'll have a chat to the medical staff so I can clear up the prognosis of English, JJ, Keathy and any Treloar...

I don’t suppose you would know if there are any open sessions on either 23rd or 24th next week? Changing jobs and have a couple of days off, so it would be good if I could plan to head down to one of these sessions

7 news just reported Treloar played 50% of match sim today and is planned to be ready for round 1

English had hamstring tightness during warm up, scans have come back ok but will be on light duties for at least the rest of this week

Does that mean when we play Geelong.
Naughton can actually towell up Cameron. Rather than be shadowed by Dekonning While Darcy and Lobb prove a handful.
Horses
Courses make sense to me.
Funny you say that, SDK is a good young player but Naughton should never be dominated by him like he was last year. That’s where Aaron needs to take the next step and impose himself.

Cleared of any damage to his hamstring. Just tightness.

As an aside, Brian Royal will always be Choco to me and I had to check he wasn't making an assistant coaching comeback

A couple of times last year Naughton went back late in a quarter - it's good he gets a run there just so we can do it again. He's probably the best 'spare' in defence late in the game we can send back after 6-6-6 no longer applies.

Take me back to the days where 6-6-6 no longer applies, I enjoyed the tactical aspect more.

We can just put a number back there after the CB. We often play a defensive winger anyway who plays defensive side of the contest, and bring a HF up (often Baz) to play as an attacking midfielder

Apparently according to the Demons, Hunter will be used at stoppages a lot. Very different to his usual outside role

Smart, I think his best seasons with us where when he spent more time inside. Lowers the impact of his pace and kicking issues.
Yeah he has a pretty good game IQ and very good with his hands. Will be interesting how it works out. Demons already have wingers as well.

Like us, there's not much use for him in stoppages. They have Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Sparrow, Brayshaw, Harmes etc. who are all more than enough to cover the inside.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see him outside of the Demons best 22 most of the year. Hunter is an AFL quality wingman but I think they'll prefer more speed and damage on their wings alongside Langdon, to match the Demons inside bulls.

Hunter could get the ball but I amazed at hearing comments he was a good ball user. He was terrible user kicking slow helicopter kicks in the forward line and was a poor at goal shooting. Plus he had off field troubles. I do not think we miss him at all and it gives someone like Bebendo an opportunity to show his talent.

Suspect his relationship might have broken down too 🙁

Is Bruce really 199cm? AFL Record has him at this

He's still growing. He was 195cm last year but had a spurt during the summer. Analysts say he will probably end up in the 205cm to 230cm range

why do you say that?

Definitely appears that way on his wife's social media, has changed her name back to her maiden name and hasn't posted anything with him in it in months

Saddens me to see really, the guy gave everything for us for years, will always have a soft spot for him

He's also a father/son and will likely in future have a kid that'll be playing for the dogs in the future.
