Was pretty windy and I was just balancing the thing on me knee, so much of it is quite shaky - unlke our footskills which are beyond reproach.

Sparks seems like a decent WAFL grade player, I don't think he translates to AFL standard however.

At about 14.05 you can hear a player (Baker) let loose an exasperated “**** me” when the ball is nearly turned over

Then at about 15.05, Baker is talking to the playing group about the need to move the ball quickly - it’s what caught my attention as to the type of leadership and accountability he brings. It was also noticeable that once Baker had finished, Flynn piped up with his two cents worth

16:55 - Baker wins back to back drills. Next one, Hewetts speed. Couple drills later. Hewett again pick up at speed cleans up the contest.

And I hope the doubters remember getting Baker also got us Graham - for SFA.

And. Both almost exactly same age as Waterman, both about 130 games, both multiple premierships.

Not sure, hasn’t been announced. I wouldn’t mind taking a punt on him if he trains well in the coming weeks, he’s a classy distributor off half back and really composed with the footy.

Now I think about it, he is actually quite similar to Burgiel in the way he plays

mmmm, might be the sneaky left field option I have been waiting for?
I have thought WC would go after a state league player as a train on/SSP similar to Richmonds great success at this in the past?

Those whinging about Owies being recruited and saying Ryan should be ahead of him… compare the pair with the shape they have seemingly come back into training in.

I feel like the only real lazy players left are sheed/TK/Ryan. Sheed will struggle to break into the side.

Contract year for TK, fingers crossee his pulls a finger out of his arse and starts performing again. He might have had injuries but his pick and choose to play last season was horrendous. Even Shuey/Yeo in similarly situations of the last few years seemed to play with more intent.

Can’t forget that Geelong pulled Tom Stewart as a mature aged rookie from South Barwon in the Geelong ammos. How many AA’s has that campaigner had?

SWFL is a very strong comp.

Country footballers can sometimes make it at AFL level in spite of not coming through the traditional talent pathways including the underage teams and draft.

Good footballers are good footballers. Getting involved in an elite system may just bring out the best in them.
