Running fast and straight then leaping to try to smother and then you want him to keep his arms straight and” push off” ??
Good way to break an arm or wrist if you ask me.
I think some of you blokes have got your “ I hate Maynard” glasses on!
Look he can brace for contact like he did that's fine but the rules around head high contact are if you choose to bump you are responsible for outcomes .

Maynard had no outcomes is why everyone is shitty .

Afl after telling everyone that they are protecting the head then engineering a not guilty verdict is BS .

100% if it was a player for a non vic team would have been suspended.

As someone married to a teacher let me pass on the message they need every one of those days, you can’t begin to imagine how hard it is and if it’s so good, why don’t you do it.

They spend most their time at home prepping or marking. Bonkers amounts of unpaid overtime

Daniels reporting 4-8 weeks

So all of preseason and maybe 2-3 games

Not ideal but better than it might have been

Also Flynn hobbled off a couple of weeks ago with a blister not an ankle as originally reported

This is where we differ. Maynard didn’t go the bump.He turned sideways to protect himself. If he didn’t t hen go look at Brad Shepherd to see what happens when you go chest on into contact.A couple of the hits Shep took were the result of not turning sideways to protect himself.
Brayshaw is as hard as a cats head but certainly not a cerebral footballer.
Couldn’t he see a player coming at speed in a beeline??
P.S the AFL agreed with me!

Even PE teachers? Got a mate who is one and is down south playing golf every school holidays. Such a campaigner.
Agree that 90% of teachers are underpaid and overworked but PE teachers are the exception to the rule, they're just dodgeball supervisors

Elliot Yeo injury update

The Eagles star has damaged his knee and ankle during training
By westcoasteagles.com.au
Just now

Scans have revealed West Coast midfielder Elliot Yeo has injured the medial ligament in his right knee and sustained syndesmosis damage to his right ankle.

Yeo was injured when he was tackled during match simulation at Mineral Resources Park during training on Friday.

“There are always risks involved as we increase the intensity at training to prepare for the season, and unfortunately Elliot has sustained injuries to his right knee and ankle,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said.

“We are working through his rehab program and a return-to-play timeline.

“At this stage, we’re hopeful he will be available in the early part of the season.”

I wasn't having a dig at teachers - they're just a profession that have a lot of holidays. They've really stripped back the amount of time they can actually train in pre-season, while also doing everything they can to speed up the game. Also added an extra H&A round too.

I'm friends with quite a few teachers and noticed that the overtime depends a lot on how efficient they are with prep work (ie not over-doing it) and marking. One of their spouses is an engineer and massively cut down their time by designing a more efficient marking system.

The other thing they didn't seem to acknowledge is that school hours are 8.30-3.30 (7hrs including breaks) which probably necessitates at least 1-2hrs extra to make up an 8hr work day.
