Got the afternoon train to Melbourne.
Pretty full train like normal this lady asks a lady who was sitting down if she could move her bag so she could have seat.
This lady was saying a bunch things then said her husband was getting on soon.
Got all the way into the city and the fake husband was nowhere to be seen..

That's fair if there's other seats available. If not then, sorry lady, I'm sitting down. Invent your own bullshit if necessary, like 'I'm recovering from a hip replacement'.

Sat next to a middle aged man a few weeks ago, and across from a girl who I assumed to be on her way to uni (late teens).

The girl must have been on the phone to her bank or something at the time and was providing her full name and date of birth etc

The middle aged man next to me begins to secretly look her up on Facebook and scrolls through her photos. Was very creepy.

I would never do such things.

Lots of sick ****s around...just look at that poor girl killed today :(

People should know their surroundings tho .
Talking about personal stuff on train with heaps of people.

Are children taught about public transport safety in schools?

Like, do they have police or people from Metro go in and warn them of the dangers of silly buggers around trains?

I literally caught a kid by the school bag at the train station today, who was about to fall on the tracks in front of a train. Two kids horsing around to get in front of each other, in front of the yellow line, with a train approaching. They were wearing high school uniforms, so at least 12 or 13yo I guess.

It reminded me of a similar occurrence at Jolimont maybe last year, after a major event, with thousands of people standing on the platform, where I caught a kid (much younger, maybe 7-8) by the hood of his jacket... and his (presumptive) dad, who hadn't been paying any attention, was about to belt me cos he thought I was just dragging his kids out of the way to let the adults on until a bystander told him what happened.

Do we leave transport safety education to morons like that dad? Or are we externally educating kids?

Committed the ultimate sin a few months back. Offered my seat to a lady asked her when she was due. She replied I am not pregnant. It was a long 40 minute trip. I think the guy next to her spent that time laughing.
One of life's lessons.

I remember going into work once, in the depths of a Canberra winter. Pre-COVID days, everyone still takes their colds to the office to share it around.

I walk in one morning, and I say "Oh, Heather, you look like hell, why did you come in if you're sick?"

She was not sick...

I'm thinking blue ..looks worried ...but blue looks a easy answer.

Maybe far right in green .
Looks happy .
Blue is cradling her stomach, it's a common posture for pregnant ladies.
