Anyone listen to Kelly explain to Rowey how Murphy has kept his spot? Something like this:

“Not about possessions and people watching his game might not understand that. Murphy is comfortable with his role in the team”

So the old non-statistical role that doesn’t involve kicking goals. That’s the excuse we used for Wright up until we dropped him and then delisted him.

This club is ****ed. Can’t stand listening to Kelly, he’s a moron.

Every time someone at the club roles this line out, they very specifically don't say what the role actually is.

Fine, if you think there is a need for some special role that doesn't involve getting disposals, or goals, or tackles, or pressure acts... but presumably it provides something measurable, something observable? It's not just a magic role where putting someone named Lachlan on the field increases our football stats by 10%.
