Good team RevDog, if you have VB in the middle, I'd suggest to take Rory Sloane instead, I think he'll score better, more upside and he's only 21. He's also put a considerable amount of muscle this year, 4kg I think so he's going to be even stronger with contested footy.

Rate my team please!

Very good team. You got a great mix in defence. 4 premium midfield is what I've gone with too - only issue is Magner. Does anyone actually know whats going on with him. Will he play round 1? I'm not sure if Jacobs is the right choice in the rucks. If you can upgrade to Leuenberger - do it, especially if you've built your team around byes, because Adelaide and Brissy both have round 11 byes. Good forward line - only issues is, too many Crows players?

I think you have a few too many mid-priced player in your team.

Backs: Maybe think of trading one of Lake or Hargrave to a midfield/running type rookie such as Ellis from Richmond. U wouldn't have Boumann in the side. Possibly trade him to Marty Clarke from Collingwood with the extra cash from your other downgrade.

Mids: Looks pretty good overall. I would avoid Wingard at that price. If you are spening that much on a rookie you may as well have Coniglio. I would probably lean towards a cheaper one of the GWS kids that is likely to play.

Rucks: Risky move playing the 1 gun 3 rookie strategy but you have the best rookie combination and Mummy is a good choice first ruck.

Forwards: Good mix. not sure about Saad at this point. If you can afford the little bit extra i would consider Devon Smith from GWS instead. He appears a likely type and should get plenty of midfield time.

Overall looks like a fairly good side though.

Thanks for your input. I have a few(3-4 tops) mid pricers, helps balance my economics.
might put smedts in backs, he can be moved about.
Goddard still a worry, takes time to warm up at his own pace as the season progresses.
Also coll players with their rotation game is a concern.
And buddy, selwood, big sand, chappy etc all possibly rested early season.
LIKE luenberger, kerridge & others you have.....all playing in my reserve
team.
The next week will be listening week for all news footy.
Cant wait.

First time poster and supercoacher very curious as to what you guys make of my team...

Backs:Goddard, Scotland, Broughton, S.Burgoyne, R. hargrave, M.Clarke, Smedts,Bugg, Wilkes

Mids: Ablett, Selwood, Priddis, Swan, Wingard, Shiel, J.Mcdonald, Magner

Rucks: Mcintosh, Giles, Redden, Stephenson

Forwards:Franklin, Martin, Fyfe,Goodes,Sidebottom, N.Haynes, A.Hall, D.Pfeiffer, R. Stanley

Any thoghts would be much appreciated :)

Not too bad I must say. Question marks over Burgoyne shiel and sidey for me. Like Priddis as a pod still young, Kerr to get more attention so should improve. Also hmac as r1 I don't like but that's just me. Happy posting :)

To much chat! Here's a team. My updated team.

It's ok.

B: Deledio, Fisher, Broughton, Heppell, Lake, Davis, Dempsey (Ellis, Smedts)
C: Goddard, Watson, Gibbs, Caddy, Smith D, Coniglio (Hampton, Magner)
R: McEvoy, Ryder (Giles, Redden)
F: Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, Porplyzia, Folau, Dickson (Hall, Dell'Olio)

$138k in the bank to fiddle with.

Pretty happy with everything, mostly worried about Davis and Lake, and the mix of midfield rookies.

^I reckon Davis is a good point of difference. He will be allowed to play a significat role in the young side. I have been thinking about Folau too, need to see how he goes on the weekend.

This is my starting 22 so far. Comments/Thoughts?
Def: Scotland, Shaw, Broughton, Lake, M. Clarke, B. Ellis, Darley
Mid: Swan, Boyd, Ablett , Murphy, van Berlo, Clifton
Ruck: Cox, Redden
Fwd: Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Porplysia, D. Smith, Saad

Nice Backline, Lake might be in and out though
Midfield is pretty strong, I might consider removing van Berlo (depending on which van Berlo you have)
Ruck: I like Cox however Redden doesn't have a guaranteed spot
Forward: Very much like mine so I like it :)

Any ideas for my team?

Couple of uniques in there I don't mind. Looks like van berlo for godd is the obvious difference from the standard cookie cutter team. What's your reasoning there? I don't dislike it but I'm sure u had your reasons

Not sure on Bock. If he goes forward he could lose a bit of his scoring power as he won't see the ball as much. Hurn need to step up a bit to be worth the choice, not sure if he has it. Clarke I just dont think he's good enough at that price. Better value around. Not sure how many games your rookies will get.

Midfield is obviously very strong. Not sure if I'd go as heavily there.

Rucks: Cox is very expensive. I'm not sure if he can hold that value to justify it. NN is a risky choice, but much better than something like HMac or Kreuzer, I don't mind it. Stephenson is one I'm not really sure on. I think Giles is better value.

I wouldn't take Butcher up foward, he is going to go missing in a lot of game and not really make much money. Skinner might not play many games also and Motlop is in that category too.

Clarke I'm not sure. van Berlo I think is not enough value. Redden is bold, but I'd feel safer if he was on the bench. Chapman might have another decent year, though I'm hesitant. Will be interesting to see how many games Saad gets with Milne around.

A pretty standard team, but the rookies need to be changed, there are much better options

I chose VB because with Dangers playing more of a mid-field role, the engine room should be firing really well, being more effective in delivering to the forwards. I see his scores suprising a few people.

I am not sure if Goddard's value will drop rd 1-3 and can be picked up a bit cheaper? But I think the others can cover his points if he starts the season bolting.

Ruck: I will carry Giles through to RD 13.
Back: If any rookie will do, just penciling in Clarke as a older head on cheap shoulders. If Bugg, Yagmoore etc looks the goods they'll be in the 22.

If there is a stand out performance on the weekend any premo can be swapped for another.

Seriously thinking Folau with the JS might get up by round 1.

I want to make M Johnson work in the Backs as a possible dpp with Smedts in FWD bench as a bye round work-around as I reckon his scores this year may be decent enough to warrant a thought. Since it is not working, salary cap wise I am going in a different direction.

Looks pretty good. A little weak in the ruck area (Will Leuie be a big scorer say vs Kreuzer, etc?) Are you going the MPP with the mids in your FWD line? (if so maybe worth having Kerridge in your Mid?)

Some thoughts :)

My version 2.0

Back: Gods, Lids, Shaw, H., Wilkes, Lake, Ellis, Smedts, Clarke, Darley
Mids: Ablett, Swallow, A., Goodes, Watson, Scotland, Kerridge, Magnar, Cunningham
Rucks: Mummy, Sandi, Giles, Stephensen
Fwds: Buddy, Fyfe, Martin, Porps, Smith, Pfeiffer, Saad, Weedon, Hall

Be ruthless! ;)

Yeah I'm seeing his name on more n more forums. With Vince looking like he might improve as well they'll definitely be firing.

It's funny you say that about godd because buddy seems like he'd be the more likely of the 2 to drop if u were looking for a discount. That's based on early draws though not necessarily on form. On form well buddy looks like gold :D

Folau does seem the type of player that could have that one or two decent round to make that decent cash I agree but it's tough to invest in such a raw kpp forward in a bottom side

DEFENDERS: Goddard, H.Shaw, Birchall, Lake, M.Clarke, Ellis, Smedts (Bugg, Morris)

MIDFIELDERS: J.Selwood, J.Watson, Scotland, Hayes, C.Smith (Miles, Shiel)

RUCKS: Sandilands, I.Maric (Giles, Stephenson)

FORWARDS: Franklin, D.Martin, Fyfe, J.Lewis, Dangerfield, D.Smith, Hampton (Treloar, Cameron)

$38,100 left.

Wouldn't mind getting the Porpoise in as I think he'll sky rocket in price. Any suggestions as to how to do so, and at who's expense? Or whether to leave him alone?

Other suggestions on my side?

Cheers.

Are you one player short in your midfield? An easy suggestion would be downgrade either Lewis or Dangerfield (if you downgraded Dangerfield to Porps you save about 200K) I too would like to see Ablett in your mids, but you could use the left over cash to upgrade Maric to say Kreuzer?

Dangerfield for Porps. Dangerfield is seriously over-rated based on some NAB cup games where only one team really wanted it. He's neither cheap enough to make much money, nor enough of a scoring threat to be worth a premium spot. I'd say the same for Lewis too.

In the midfield I've gone a little of Hayes. Not sure if he's cheap enough to be worth the risk honestly. Needs to become a premium mid otherwise it's a wasted trade / loss of cash.

Birchall, Clarke, Lake and Maric are also worries. Birchall is just not quite premium, and might not get any value. Clarke is just meh. Lake is a decent option but a slight risk. Maric is just a poor choice.

Hi guys once again a few more little changes and this is what I've come up with

Goddard shaw Newman broughton Ellis bugg darley (morris l.brown)

Ablett pendles Murphy selwood McDonald magner (ledger kerridge)

Cox redden (Giles orren)

Buddy fyfe goodes Martin dangerfield pfeiffer couch (hall Dickson)

Very pleased with this team just need to finalize rookies and yeah? Any thoughts
