Just a nitpick - can people PLEASE rate the teams in the post above them, before asking people to rate their own team?

You can't just selfishly expect people to rate your team whilst not giving feedback yourself.

I would, but I'm mainly here to make sure I'm picking the right rookies, so I really have no feedback to give. >_<

After some feedback on my team.

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Otten, Heppell, Duigan
(Stanley, Buckley, Puopolo)

Mids: Swan, Judd, Montagna, A.Swallow, D.Swallow, D.Harris
(Kraqouer, Pttard, Hibberd)

Rucks: Sandilands, Petrie
(Bailey, Derickx)

Forwards: N.Riewoldt, Franklin, Harvey, Pavlich, Goodes, Day, Mzungu
(Richardson, Matera, Darling)

$81,000 in the bank.
Thanks in advanced.

Mzungu out for first 6-8 weeks so need to get rid of him.

I'm not sure about Harvey. Has been a great performer but is getting old and may spend more time as purely a forward this year with Ziebell and Anthony back in the midfield. Maybe you could get someone like Rioli instead?

Mzungu is injured and wont be back until at least round 6. You wouldn't think that he would be an automatic selection so another few weeks in the 2's to get fitness and touch back. Have 2 Games thereafter to get him.

Mids = Both Harris and Swallow in the same side can be concerning when they have their byes.

In round 1 you have the following players not playing due to injury, bye or suspension:
Petrie, Swallow, Harris, Day & Muzungu

Id make some changes

I would drop Riewoldt/Montagna. Reason is you have 3 premiums from st kilda. When st kilda have a bye you will then have 1.8 million sitting on your bench from that one club which i think isn't really needed. So maybe change Montagna to a midfielder from one of the other stronger clubs. apart from that i think your side looks really good.

Thanks mate, had a think about it and i reckon your correct. Traded montagna too Selwood, free'd up even more cash in my cap.

Mzungu is injured. So I'd suggest getting rid of him. Petrie is out for round 1 (suspended) and round 3 (Bye), so his low price won't rise until round 5. Why not trade him in, in round 5? Or put him on your bench?

Not sure about your three bench defenders. What about Lower from Freo? Good scorer in the pre-season.

Thanks for the advice mate, Brought in Lower from freo as well for the bench spot. I suppose we do get more trades this year so i could always wait till rd 5 as you say and if his form warrants a trade ill do it. Not really sure who to bring in for Petrie, went with Z.Smith. Any ideas?

As to your team.
Defence looks solid, most people are going to have the same Backs with only few diff choices, Id pick Deledio over Newman this year as i think deledio will have a big one.

Mids are different which i like, If foley can maintain good form then it will be a good pick for you. The rest is good.

Your starting ruck combo is good, and with petrie on the bench it offers ideal cover. Cox looks set to have a big year if he can stay injury free.

Forwards i ike alot, good mix of premiums, Harvey played well pre season and no matter where he plays will score well. Can see him playing more time up front but will get stints in the middle when needed.

Overall i cant see too much id change from your team, your mids are a bit risky but if they pay off then it will be great for you.

Mzungu out for first 6-8 weeks so need to get rid of him.

I'm not sure about Harvey. Has been a great performer but is getting old and may spend more time as purely a forward this year with Ziebell and Anthony back in the midfield. Maybe you could get someone like Rioli instead?

Traded out mzungu. Harvey will preform well this year, He may not get as much game time in the middle but will still preform well up front.

Thoughts?

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Taylor, Otten, Heppell, Duigan (Toy, Lower, Puopolo)

Swan, Judd, Selwood, Pavlich, Krakouer, Swallow (Harris, Atley, Liberatore)

Sandilands, Cox (Smith, Derickx)

Riewoldt, Franklin, Varcoe, Higgins, Duncan, Veszpremi, Gamble (Richardson, Matera, Smith)

$157k left... I have the same team in DT as well, with $326k left.

Not a bad team.

Backs: Very good. Taylor could be a good pick.
Mids: Great. Not sure about Krakourer in mids though. Probably better off in fwds.
Rucks: Good standard set and forget picks
Fwds: Probably a few too many risks. Duncan would need to average quite a bit to increase enough to be cash cow. Varcoe a good unique pick, like it.Vespremi could be a smoky but cannot see him averaging enough. Gamble is just that, a gamble for consistency.
Maybe you need another decent premium in fwd line.
Overall though looking good.

Here's mine. Changed a few times now. Please comment.

B; Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Everitt, Otten, Lower (Duigan, Heppell, Stanley)
m:Swan, Judd, Cross, Foley (?) Swallow, Hibberd (Harris, Bewick, Smith)
R: Sandi, Cox (Smith, Derrickx)
F: N.Riewoldt, Franklin, Goodes, Higgins, Fyfe, Krakourer, Richardson (Prestia, Darling, Matera)

Could downgrade Fyfe to Petrie (put tippett in) and upgrade Foley to Bartel. Would then have mpp cover in ruck.
Or downgrade Fyfe to Knights and upgrade Foley to Bartel, Harvey (additional mpp), Hayes, or Pav (additional mpp)

Defence - to be honest one of the weakest I've seen on here. I am not sold on Newman. Gibbs, Goddard and Grimes is definitely strong though. You've certainly taken some risks and I hope for your sake they pull off.
bench is good though - Toy and Hibberd are certainly good ones to have as a back up. Bit worried for you having Duigan and Heppell starting on the field for you but as I said, good to take risks, that's half what SC is all about.

Mids - Love your bench here - Swallow, harris and Libs. good work! A bit troublesome having two premium blues in your midfield - expect to be a lot lower on points on matches where they have the bye. the midfield is the only position on the ground where it probably doesn't matter as much though because there's some good ones to replace them. Still, having a million sitting on your bench will hurt. how much money do you have leftover? Could you perhaps upgrade to a premium mid from somewhere else?

Ruck - Good, but I think you should get Sandilands if you can afford him.

Forwards - One of the strongest and most balanced I've seen here. You have depth all the way to the bench.

Been working on this for a while, but here's my shot for 2011;

Backs:

Goddard (alternating Captain with Pendles),
Duffield (personal choice, love this kids future)
Harbrow (will take a hit in round 1, but I can cover it)
Hurley (potential superstar, could score 80-100 a week)
Ben Reid (will improve his score in a more attacking role)
Easton Wood (I just love this kid)
Andy Otten (risk, but looked like a star before doing his knee)
Toy (Will be the best of the Gold Coast young D's)
Watson (a big chance for round 1 with no Jamison, is Carlton's best draftee in years IMO)
Batchelor (will play Round 1, and will play plenty of senior football)

Centres:

Cross
(just a workhorse, will be consistent each week between 100-120)
Pendlebury (could be the best player in the league this season, 120 + most weeks)
Hannebery
(gun youngster, and will play as a "first choice" midfielder)
Rich (over the second year blues, will increase his average this year)
Scully (A little risky, but if he stays fit, and the GWS crap doesn't creep in, he could push a 100 avg)
Conca
(only a round 1 choice to cover for Swallow, but will play 15 + games and score well)
Swallow (comparisons to Judd and Selwood, need I say more)
Heppell (I think the NAB Cup showed how good this kid can be)
Harris (Krak and Harris were the best 2 players not playing AFL last season)

Rucks;

Mumford
(averaged 20 points less then Sandilands, but 100k cheaper, yes please)
Jolly (will play week in, week out, and spend more time up forward)
Bellchambers (should play most weeks)
Smith (great looking kid)

Forwards;

N.Riewoldt
(not much to say here, if he stays fit, is the best forward)
J.Riewoldt (will play more like his cousin this year, which boosts his score)
Higgins (potential superstar)
Dawes
(monster of a man, will swap with Cloke outside 50, but will still kick 50+ goals)
Yarran (the hype says it all)
Veszpremi
(big risk here, been a supercoach teaser for years, hopefully 2011 is his year)
Krakouer (what a shock:p)
Prestia (will play 20 + games, and score well)
Matera (slight risk, up and down scorer IMO)
McKernan (stuck here, don't love this selection, might change it yet).

290 K LEFT, which I will spend on a Gold Coast "smoky" come round two.:)

Thoughts?

B; Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Everitt, Otten, Lower (Duigan, Heppell, Stanley)

I personally don't like Everitt or Foley, think they will be too inconsistent, but that may prove to be wrong. I like the Fyfe pick, in a side like Freo, he could kick plenty of goals in a rather weak forward line (if Pav plays midfield). Strong rucks, which is obviously your approach, although I doubt Cox will last the year again, that's why I went with Mumford.

I'd also watch the first few rounds before jumping on Bartel, injuries may be his problem from now on, he's played the game so hard it will catch up to him eventually.

Fairly good team, a few risks, which I like to see, rather then the "bread and butter" approach.:)

I would, but I'm mainly here to make sure I'm picking the right rookies, so I really have no feedback to give. >_<

How about this for an idea, instead of being lazy and asking people directly, read back through past posts. I'd say by now that every rookie has been covered, not to mention premiums.

Hey guys so it's a couple days out from the season opener, and I've revamped my team changing things up again, some due to form and some due to injuries.

I know the picture is a tad small, but just zoom in by Right click > View Image > Zoom.

Any advice would be most welcomed, I have 54k left in the bank so I have room to move a little.

Hey guys I'm quoting my own post because my team never got rated. :p

If someone can have a quick look over it and offer some advice it would really be appreciated. :thumbsu:

Had a tough time this year, last year was VERY easy compared to this one.

When i signed up for this years comp i started off with this team:

Defenders - Lake, Bruce, O'Brien, Pearce, Hunt, Hayden, Tarrent, Jamison, Astbury. The rest were no namers

Mids - Goddard, Ablett, Swan, Hodge, Petterd, Armstrong. The rest were no namers

Rucks - Jolly, Naitanui, Bellchambers + a bottom line no namer

Forwards: Franklin, Roughhead, Brown, Hall and 6 no namers

Dissatisfied i started a new team - used the random selection and this is what it is currently:

Defenders - Goddard, Lake, Grimes, Cornes - rest = no namers

Mids - Ablett, Burgoyne, Lewis, Ladson, de Boer, - rest no namers

Rucks - Sandilands, Ryder, Tippett + no namer

Forwards - Chapman, Riewoldt, Franklin, Jetta, Rohan - rest no namers

Still have a good budget left over, what i want to do is combine a few spots to gain extra money to use at a later stage (helps with a future trade) - i'll gladly trade Lewis & Ladson, for Hodge and a lesser player.

I like to have at least 3, but usually 4 quality Rucks all season long, 2010 i did this and was covered for the entire year, whereas in previous seasons (especially 2009) most trades always involved having to get rid of a ruck who was long term injured.

Mumford is someone who I was thinking about aswell rather than Cox. May look at it.
Like Bartel for his price though. Would like Pendles but I guess I should wait until after his byes.

A lot of risky picks but its good to see someone hasn;t just loaded up on rookies.

Some risky picks, but you have to take a risk right?

I think you might need another keeper in your backline, not sure who you could sacrifice though, maybe Harbrow, was a bit inconsistent last year.

Your midfield is solid, Cross is a safe bet and so is Pendlebury. Scully is a bit of a risk, but could pay off.

Rucks, nice!

Forwards, I am not sure about Dawes and not to sure if Veszpremi will play week in and out.

Hi guys,
this is only my first year of supercoach, and have just completed my side for the year.. any feedback would be really appreciated! im not going for the number one spot overall but would really like to stick it up my mates who always talk up there teams so much!
anything please

here it is.

BACKS Gibbs,Enright, Grimes, Thornton, R Murphy, A Otten, J Trengrove (Toy,Hibberd,Duigan)

FORWARDS Franklin,Didak,Pavlich, S Johnson, Higgins, Knights, Krakouer (Prestia,Matera, Richardson)

thoughts?

You'll need to look into when teams have their byes. For instance you have buddy, SJ and Pav all missiing in round 6. Likewise Bartel and Burgoyne. With injuries and rookies being dropped or rested it's very hard to cover that.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Hurley, Otten, Toy
(Puopolo, Duigan, Hibberd)

MID: Swan, Judd, Boyd, Swallow, Swallow, Heppell
(Prestia, Atley, Liberatore)

RUCK: Sandilands, Jolly
(Smith, Campbell)

FWD: Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Higgins, Dangerfield, Krakouer, Richardson
(Matera, Smith, Darling)

A few questions, I think I need a forward MPP to swap with the midfield but I'm not sure? Dangerfield or Knights, having Knights would give me some extra cash for later in the season because at the moment I only have $10k in the bank and I'd like a bit more than that.

So thoughts?

Still have a meagre $12,800 in the bank too.

I've got 13 players in the side worth over 400k, 8 players valued between 200 and 400k, and 12 valued under 200k. Hopefully those in the <200k bracket become cash cows, as well as some of those in the 200-400k bracket. Time will tell of course.

Strong team mate, Shaw imo is a risk but it's 1 that can pay off, really like the forward line, most lines are very strong actually, I wouldn't be changing that team to much.

I'm really starting to crap my pants now, 2 days left and im still swapping a lot of players around.

This is my team as it stands now

Backs: Goddard, gibbs, broughton, grimes, everitt, heppel, lower
Bench: Duigan, puopolo, stanley

Mids: Murphy, pendles, mitchell, boak, cotchin, Harris
Bench: Prestia, hibberd, bewick

Rucks: Cox, warnock
Bench: Smith, Derickx

Forwards: Roo, buddy, johnson, higgins, fyfe, knights, krakour
Bench: Richardson, matera, smith

I've gone a bit unique with everitt, boak, cotchin and fyfe which is a big risk, all have been in great pre-season form whether or not that counts for much is another question.

Still got 213k in the bank, any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated, cheers
