Looks good to me bar a few. Menzeil is an interesting one. I think he'll play games but dunno how he'll score. I think Petrie will be good but not playing round 1 and might take a few games to get going.

Here's my side

Gibbs, Broughton, Grimes, Connors, Adcock, Everitt, Otten
Toy, Duigan, Lower

Selwood, Murphy, Pendlebury, Boak, Cotchin, van Berlo
Harris, Pittard, Liberatore

Cox, Warnock
Smith, Curnow

Franklin, Goodes, Sylvia, Higgins, Yarran, Knights, Krakour
Matera, Richardson, Darling

What do you guys think??

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Hurley, Otten, Toy
(Puopolo, Duigan, Hibberd)

MID: Swan, Judd, Boyd, Swallow, Swallow, Heppell
(Prestia, Atley, Liberatore)

RUCK: Sandilands, Jolly
(Smith, Campbell)

FWD: Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Higgins, Dangerfield, Krakouer, Richardson
(Matera, Smith, Darling)

A few questions, I think I need a forward MPP to swap with the midfield but I'm not sure? Dangerfield or Knights, having Knights would give me some extra cash for later in the season because at the moment I only have $10k in the bank and I'd like a bit more than that.

So thoughts?

MPP is very important this year. Dangerfield is the safer bet. Knights is too injury prone. I wouldn't worry about only having 10k in the bank. As long as you've picked players who are going to improve, it's a good investment. Money in the bank is just money which isn't getting you points.

Personally, i'd try to get some more MID/DEF in you Midfield. Every year it's the backline where most people cop their donuts. MPP can help cover the backline but not if you only have Heppell to swap in there for an injured star. For example I've got Gibbs in the midfield because I think he can hold his own in the mids. Also, mid rookies score more than back rookies. So if Goddard goes down, I can swap gibbs into the backline to cover him and bring a mid rookie on who scores 70+ instead of just covering Goddard with a defence rookie who might only score 50+. Also, defence rookies are less likely to play through the year.

My team I quickly did this team almost solely based on NAB scores

Def: Goddard, Grimes, Taylor, Everitt, Trengove, Otten, Lower (Stanley, Hibberd, Duigan)
Mid: Pendles, Gibbs, Goodes, Rockliff, Cotchin, Krakouer (Conca, Heppell, Prestia)
Ruc: Sandi, Cox (Tippet, Smith)
Fwd: Voldt, Buddy, Johnson, Higgins, Fyfe, Yarran, Petrie (Matera, Richardson, Darling)

Nice looking team - not too sure if its a year too early to be taking Hurley just yet but interesting pick.

Rockliff IMO could be a huge bolter this year and Curnow is an interesting choice on the bench.

Team looks pretty sound, is there any way you could turn a Warnock into a Cox though?

Can I PLEASE get peoples thoughts on my team as it stands at the moment. Really not sure where to go from here.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Otten, Duigan, Puopolo (Coad, Batchelor, Lower)

MID: Judd, Pendlebury, Boyd, Selwood, Hayes, Harris (Bewick, Hibberd, I Smith)

RUCK: Sandilands, Cox (Derickx, Smith)

FWD:Riewoldt, Franklin, Goodes,Yarran, Knights, Krakouer, T Banfield (Matera, Richardson, Lamb)

Thoughts please guys? Can anyone think of better rookie options than what is there?

It seems my team changes from day to day, whenever I read or hear something positive about a player I scramble to fit him into my team. This is the first time I've showed anyone, would love some opinions.

This is my team for round 1, so all GC players are benched.

Here is my team. This is about the 10th team I have saved so lots of tweaking the last few days.

As always, comments/suggestions appreciated

Backs
Goddard, Gibbs, Newman, H. Shaw, Grimes, Otten, Hibberd (Toy, Duigan, Lower)

Mids
J. Selwood, Pendlebury, Watson, Pavlich, D. Swallow, Heppell (Harris, Pittard, Atley)

Rucks
Sandilands, Fraser (Bellchambers, Gorringe)

Forwards
Riewoldt, Frankin, Goodes, Leon Davis, Yarran, Knights, Krakouer (Petrie, Matera, Darling)

Pretty happy with it overall, forward line doesn't run too deep but hopefully room for upgrades down the line. I wanted to focus this year on MPP's so have tried to select at least one on each line that is interchangable.

Also wanted to go with guns who have not missed many games in the past few seasons. Definately taking a bit of a risk with the likes of Knights, Davis & Petrie)

Backs -Looks really good. Not too sure about Newman and I reckon you can do better then Hibberd

Mids- Again, pretty hard to criticize as it looks pretty good. Not convinced with Watson though - think he is better suited to DT

Rucks- Your weakest part imo. With GC on a bye round 1 you will either need Bellchambers or Gorringe to play which is unlikely.

Forwards - Strong again. First three are strong, then it drops off a bit. Obviously a couple of gambles here, but you have to take them :thumbsu:

MY TEAM:
Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Otten, Heppel, Lower (Batchelor, Duigan, Toy)

Mids: Selwood, Pendlebury, Hayes, Cotchin, Fyfe, Swallow (Conca, Harris, Berwick)

Rucks: Sandilands, Tippet, (Vickery, Fraser)

Forwards: Reiwoldt, Franklin, Morton, Dangefield, Knights, Petrie, Krakouer (Richardson, Smith, Prestia)

Opinions Please! :)

Strong team mate, Shaw imo is a risk but it's 1 that can pay off, really like the forward line, most lines are very strong actually, I wouldn't be changing that team to much.

I'm really starting to crap my pants now, 2 days left and im still swapping a lot of players around.

This is my team as it stands now

Backs: Goddard, gibbs, broughton, grimes, everitt, heppel, lower
Bench: Duigan, puopolo, stanley

Mids: Murphy, pendles, mitchell, boak, cotchin, Harris
Bench: Prestia, hibberd, bewick

Rucks: Cox, warnock
Bench: Smith, Derickx

Forwards: Roo, buddy, johnson, higgins, fyfe, knights, krakour
Bench: Richardson, matera, smith

I've gone a bit unique with everitt, boak, cotchin and fyfe which is a big risk, all have been in great pre-season form whether or not that counts for much is another question.

Still got 213k in the bank, any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated, cheers

Same With me really crappin them hahah
your defence: I think u may have a few risks with everitt and lower but a new lease of life for everitt might do him good, lower hopefully a cash cow

Mids: Solid Midfield i think boak is gonna have a breakout and Mitchell good priced and good pre season by reports

Rucks: Bit risky with warnock but i think you should be right

Fwd: very strong but again fyfe is a risk think he has qaulity knights is great get will star this year

Backs
Goddard, Gibbs, Newman, H. Shaw, Grimes, Otten, Hibberd (Toy, Duigan, Lower) - Not overly keen on shaw, i reckon he will grind your gears. still strong, and good rookies.

Mids
J. Selwood, Pendlebury, Watson, Pavlich, D. Swallow, Heppell (Harris, Pittard, Atley) - like this line as well, however watson has the bye in round 22. again, strong and good rookies.

Rucks
Sandilands, Fraser (Bellchambers, Gorringe) - sandis the must have, however i don't rate fraser. surely there are better options. also, who are your rookies??? (i havent spent much time on my rucks. ) i think ur silly not having z smith on your bench.

Forwards
Riewoldt, Frankin, Goodes, Leon Davis, Yarran, Knights, Krakouer (Petrie, Matera, Darling) - dont like neon leon. i didnt catch it, are you a pies supporter? yarran, knights and krakour are risky, however possibly better options than rookies, however i think petrie is too expensive for your bench. maybe put him on the field, downgrade knights to I smith or similar, and upgrade neon.

Definately taking a bit of a risk with the likes of Knights, Davis & Petrie)

Here's my second crack.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Delidio, Johncock, Bock, Otten, Heppel (Lower, Toy, Duigain)

MIDS: Swan, Selwood, Cotchin, Krakouer, Swallow, Hibberd (Pittard, Harris, I Smith)

RUCK: Sandilands, Cox (Z Smith, Derickx)

FWD: N Reiwoldt, Franklin, Harvey, Pavlich, Goodes, Gamble, Richardson (Prestia, Matera, Darling)

two upgrades required in the back, two in the fwds and hopefully only 3 in the mids (hopefully cotchins a keeper) so 14-18 trades leaving 6 for injuries. going for a league win, gunna cop the GC byes cuz i think their cheapies are likely to play more games.

any thoughts/advice/criticism is greatly appreciated guys. If you chuck you team in i'll rate it as well

Really interesting team. I like the Morton selection, I think a lot of people are ignoring him, but he's going to spend a lot more time in the middle this year, and can be a seriously high scorer. I just can't figure out how to fit him in my team at the moment (can't have too many Tigers in there).

I think your forward line might be a big star short with just Riewoldt & Franklin there, and I don't like Tippet at all, but apart from that, I reckon that's a really cool team.

I also agree with your comment on Newman, he's underdone at the moment, I wouldn't pick him until later.

I’m considering a bit of a risky strategy with my rucks. I’m worried that Sandi & Cox aren’t going to be at the top of their games this year, so I’m considering going with bargain basement rucks, and upgrading them later to whoever’s going well.

The extra money is going towards a couple more mid price guys.

I’m not paying the sort of attention that’s required to try and score REALLY high, I just want to win my leagues which are reasonably competitive.

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Everitt, Otten, Heppel - E: Toy, Lower, Duigan

Mids: Judd, Pendlebury, Harvey, Burgoyne, Cotchin, Krakouer - E: Swallow, Harris, Libba

Rucks: Leuenberger, Petrie - E: Bellchambers, Smith

Forwards: N. Riewoldt, Franklin, Rioli, Goodes, Higgins, Knights, Richardson – E: Matera, Smith, Darling

Obviously there’s the Petrie suspension/bye worry, so still looking at possible back ups, and I haven’t looked too much into the byes yet, changes can still be made for that though if needed.

Interested to hear thoughts on this slightly different approach.

Like the look of your team not to much to criticize about.

Your backline looks pretty standard to how most people are setting up.

Midfield is solid I like the different picks of Fyfe and Cotchin could pay off big time, and which Swallow is that NM or GC Swallow?

Your ruck setup is ok, if thats Kurt Tippet I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he wont be ready for Round 1 and could miss a few more games, I like the pick of Vickery showed good form in the NAB matches could make you some good coin.

Your Forward line apart from Riewoldt and Franklin will be touch and go Morton looks set for a big year should get plenty of midfield time, Dangerfield I don't think is a good SC option very bash and crash player and his skills can go up and down like a yoyo depending on the day. Knights, Petrie and Krakouer should get decent scores for there price and will make you some coin.

Now for my team I've probably changed it a thousand times still not sure of a couple of spots, all in all I think it looks solid though.

MY TEAM:
Backs: Goddard, Deledio, Gibbs, Grimes, E. Wood, Lower, Batchelor
(Hibberd, Toy, Puopolo)

Mids: Selwood, Swan, Judd, Foley, Heppell, C. Beams
(D. Swallow, Harris, Pitterd)

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox
(Smith, Petrie)

Forwards: Franklin, N. Riewoldt, Pavlich, Goodes, Higgins, Krakouer, Richardson
(Darling, Tapscott, Matera)

Petrie is an emergency to start with as he will miss a couple games at the start of the year, still thinking of switching Higgins with Morton.

Any advice is welcomed, Thanks.

Hopefully I'm not late to get some help, it's my first go at this super coach thing, and i figure I need all the help I can get

Backs;
B Goddard, B Lake, J Gibson, A Everitt, A Raines, P Davis, D Menzel, (D Heppell, D Stanley, J Toy)

Midfield;
D Swan, S Pendlebury, A Krakouer, T Scully, R Palmer, J Sherman (A Swallow, N Djerrkura, R Conca0

Rucks
S Mumford, D Cox (Z Smith, M Bailey)

Forwards
L Franklin, C Rioli, C Dawes, D Petrie, C Yarran, A Wonaemirri, J White, (P Veszpremi, S Day, B Matera

I think I'm relying to heavily in too few teams, any pointers?

Rucks Sandilands, Cox, J Tippett, Keefe

Will wait for team selctions to maybe tweak a couple of my rookies (Libba in or out, Buckley in start or on bench, Lower same, Richardson or Darling to replace Petrie) but should be right to go for Round 1. Fingers crossed.

Big doubts on Pav, Green, Rioli, M Johnson... I think you can re arrange your forward line in a better way. Really like the rest of your team
