I'm gonna give this bloke his due.

Frederick has copped his crap her in the last month. Sure he didn't get a lot of the ball tonight.

But those 2 set shot goals tonight is a reason I want him in the best 23 each week.

Could of kicked a 3rd late in the game if he connected with that kick before he got tackled

Brandon walker average once again
Really? I think he was solid.

Saying that, who could take his spot in the back pocket? Maybe only Nathan Wilson or even James Aish or Ethan Hughes.

If Wilson can get a game in the backline, I would serious rotate him on a wing or up forward.

Every single player picked out for who should not play instead of Sturt played awesome. Funny how the coaches knew best.

Great win Freo. Any doubt over Darcy being our MVP thoroughly dismissed. Not because of what he contributes directly, which is great, but because of how he allows us to structure up around the ground.

Thought it was very interesting to see Treacy playing second ruck. Watch this space.

Henry played like how I saw him play in pre season. Knew he had that in him. So glad to see it produced at the top level.

Erasmus' kicking was great, and Johnson is a superstar in the making. That draft is going to go down as our best ever.

Great to be going home with a win.

Can't believe these *ers actually ran with this after 2 games. Guy wasn't even anywhere near our worst after the first 2 rounds. Just pure trash journalism.
They've gone basically all in on the English tabloid schtick, they are an embarressment

Henry was excellent, really happy to see that.

People are generally far too impatient with player development. There was even a comment this week that because Henry was drafted the same time as Serong and Young he has no excuse to not have developed as quick as them. That's just dumb, as if players are all pre-programmed machines who should develop identically.
I'm ultra patient compared to most but he was really getting to last chance station...

But what really pissed me off was after last week where anybody with some objectivity could see he was actually showing some of that potential finally being put together on the field there was still calls to just drop him straight away!

He was constantly making space and calling for the ball - he was a bit invisible. He managed to keep Redman quiet, which never shows on the stats.

The right call IMO. I've been a big supporter but he'd just about used up all his chance and I dont think anyone reasonable can deny that. What doesnt help naysayers is just dumping on him regardless of how he plays (like all of us Banfield sceptics had to do after his recent run). Also, like Banfield, he's not out of the woods yet but he can add so much to us if that becomes a regular standard for him - it was basically how he looks at Peel now and Martin is a quality opponent

After watching us tonight.

Serious question how did we get flogged last week.

I didn't see any of it.

After seeing our past 6 games outside of the GWS one. I still can't comprehend how we lost by the score it was.

Was it our 2014 St Kilda moment.
Darcy and Aish were massive outs

What tonight shows is that last week was simply a lack of effort and just plain disinterest from the team.
It shouldn’t take a blowtorch to spark a performance like tonight.
Good teams are consistent each week. Great positives tonight but let’s not see another stinker next week at Marvel please.
That AND the Darcy / Jackson combo is the greatest combo in the game across any line. Darcy didnt even play his best game but **** me the two of them together are some incredible force of football nature

Did Johnson just have cramp, or an injury?
