that's gunna make you better footballers, why is it that when a new coach steps in he thinks he has the answer to what makes a better footballer? Iceman I bet you can't wait too do a few 440's around the ground in stinkin Fukn hot weather awhile your mates are having a beer and enjoying the sun and cricket and the new kids on the block ( under 18's ) think what the heck is going on here I thought footy was meant to be fun and to have a kick with mates and heck it might as well quit this shit and work and earn some coin and watch. Yhea I love pre pre pre season training!
Obviously living in the past clubs have started pre season in November 10 years ago or more where you been pal

Going to be interesting to see how clubs slot into points system with recruits and more interesting on league player contracts required for approval the year after etc
Have heard that the penalties on breaches are going to be quite heavy

Anyway I just think it's too early its country level footy and it's not going to make a diff starting now or first week in February

Think many will differ on your view and would be shocked if no clubs have no sessions pre Xmas but what would they know champ what does your club do ????

The league should be looking at player contracts for the 2014 and 2015 season and see if there is a big differential to what they are for the 2016 season I'm sure a player who was on say 500 a game is now 250 on his contract

Disagree bud. Can't think of one club who doesn't start mid-late November and any who don't will be starting from a long way back.

So what's the point are you saying that a contracted player receiving 500
Should only show 250 etc
I believe that the leagues afl vic etc have already thought this thru and will catch clubs out I have heard the ATO are players in this as well
Players may just have to suck it up and play for less or risk investigation if court ,,

Be good to hear your numbers on training nite and I'm not talking about the magoos and unders, how serious can you be if player contracts can't be signed to February do you practice your game plan with half a team or are you just takin the piss??

I don't want to put you down but you can't pay a bloke one year and the next say nah where under a bs salary cap. Cmon knackers you created it you live with it!

I don't know what your idea of pre-season means, but it seems the rest of us do.

Crikey its been busy on here!!!!!

Just in regards to clubs resuming training so early, i never looked at it as though we were starting too early because pre christmas training was just to get all the boys back together for a few sessions, see where they are all at, give them some direction to utilise over the xmas break and also to see how the list is shaping up.
Training at this time of year doesnt have to be hard, just a bit of ballwork, welcome the new blokes and give the young fellas a taste of whats ahead

And run around the streets shirtless for the old ladies ;)

So Mongrel, shed some light on the questions in the past post, staying at romsey, leaving romsey, putting in for a higher level at Gissy or goingto Kyneton?? You must still have the hunger and i hear a few redback boys will follow, also hear Lobbe is heading to the bendigo league some place.

This Post shows your out of touch in todays football, you don't understand the process, the new coach you speak of, has just come from a higher & more professional level, which he will try to take his club to, if your players are committed & willing to buy in, they will be there day one, tonight!

I actually don't mind the old 440s for training.

Pre season is the reason why good clubs are good. If the players put in the hard yards and are turned into athletes before the start of the season this sets them up for a great year ahead. players must do heaps of conditioning work if they wish to play good football and there is no way to build a solid fitness base through out the season
