We don’t know.

Springfield doesn’t have the seating. It has one, six hundred seat stand, with broadcasting and coaches boxes above. Other than that, the club house takes up about a fifth of the available space, and there’s limited room for further expansion for proper stands.

Lions members/fans just don’t travel in large numbers. The freeway down to the Gold Coast would be nightmare if you added in 20,000 travelling fans.

Maybe we'll be able to once again have an agreement for the Lions to sell a home game to us at Optus only to have the AFL change it to GC hosting Freo at Optus when the fixture comes out.
