So selfish I know ....but... I LOVED COVID, had 2 years of zero tourists, some days at the beach there was not a single soul other than myself and the traffic was nearly non existentđź«Ł

Bastid.

Mine’s usually 12 minutes. Geezus fecking Christmas I get p!ssed if it’s 15 minutes because I’m stuck behind a bus.

Buses are the worst. I have to dodge at least three on their way to the start of their route and they all take the same turn I do and the light doesn't last longer than one turning bus.

My hour long commute is made bearable only because I WFH twice per week since the pandemic. Even now, it's a slog. Really hope we don't revert to 5 days in the office.
I have the same set up. But commute is 45 minutes generally speaking.

Still sucks arse

Me 3.

These 10m commuters have it really rough.

Half an hour each way for me, but it's easily closer to 35min in the arvo lately, can attest to the increase in traffic. I work in Freo, though, so it is a pain to get out. Mornings not so bad but I'm at work not long after 7.

There's a few ways to get to and from work and depending on which option I take on any day it'll be a great drive or a nightmare. Much more nightmare of late so I'm thinking other drivers have switched up their route and now I need to switch mine to get ahead of it.

How good are people sometimes.

Rang up to book accommodation for one of the towns along the Bibbulmun and the lady on the phone says I can stay at her place for free because it'll just be one night.

I mean, I may be murdered, but at least I'll die showered and with a home cooked meal.

In her bed?

I deliberately live where I live so I don’t have a long commute or have to fill my car up 2 or 3 times a week.

Usually a tank of petrol lasts between 2 and 3 weeks.

I can't get behind this, I choose where to live because I primarily like the area - not for proximity to work - can't let your job dictate some aspects of your personal life. In saying that I'm not what you would call a career focused individual either.

My theory is that the roads are busy af because a lot of people who used to catch public transport pre-covid are no longer doing so. Got out of the habit of it during lockdowns and don’t want to go back to it.

Not obsessed, just a theory

Wonder if that’ll change as the cost of living pressures make it harder to justify paying for parking?

It’s already prohibitively expensive in the CBD.

Is it busier in Melb? Perth has a particularly high occupancy rate for CBD offices compared to the rest of the country. It seems like a lot of other states who went through fwr harsher lockdowns haven't really returned to the office.
