Red Centre Roos v Western Woodpeckers - 3 T20s

Hi and welcome to the thread that will host the three T20 games between the Roos and Woodpeckers this week.

This is just to keep us occupied during the week as the BFFCL and iBeng take a week off to recuperate at the half way mark; but most importantly to stick it into Smartys Power for being a shit captain. ;)

shoaibakhtar has agreed to simulate these T20 games for us . And I'm thinking that as it's already Monday, that we could have the games on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with team submission due the day before to give shoaib the time to run sim these games

Hopefully Van_Power does something
I have been eerily quiet with the ball the last fortnight.

Time for a big one to re-establish myself as the number one bowler in the competition.

On a smaller side note, I also hope we win.

Oh. This is a 20/20 comp.

I do not wish to play. I don't want to injure myself. I don't want any part of this mickey mouse competition.
Tough shit. You're playing

Smartys Power & akkaps

Since this isn't a part of the BigFooty Twenty20 competition, I'd like You guys to select pitch types for the three games. There are 7 pitch types available in the sim. This will let You guys know which pitch type is more suited for Twenty20 cricket and which pitch type You want Your homeground to have.

Details and pitch types:

Hard - A hard pitch with a lot of bounce on offer, this will suit batsmen who play on the back foot well. The ball is bound to reverse swing in the end.
Uneven - Great pitch for teams batting first, and bowlers who can bowl reverse swingers later in the innings. Ideal to produce matches like this.
Sticky - Offers no swing, spin or seam whatsoever. The worst pitch to play cricket on.
Flat - It's simply a road.
Slow - Slow pitch, the ball comes on to the bat late, but runs can be scored quite easily off the bowlers once batsmen get set.
Dusty - Great pitch for spinners and batsmen.
Green - A heaven for fast bowlers and players who play on the back foot well.

Ideally, three pitches for three games.

So for the T20 competition, we will have to pick a home pitch?

iBeng , thoughts on bringing in a "home pitch" concept for the other competitions. Where at the start of the season captains pick a style of pitch. This will help as the teams will already know what pitch they are playing on, and captains can build a squad around the pitch.

Yes. This is what needs to happen. Do You think that the captain of WACA's home team picks a flat pitch for one game, and a green pitch for the second will have a good effect on the competition and overall performances?

I've noticed that most of the sides pick the one type of pitch for every game. the Roos leadership group puts some effect in and tries to predict oppositions sides and what type of pitch will suit us.

But overall, I think it could work if the team picks a pitch style for the whole season at the start of the season. And of course the Final would be randomized.
