With Adelaide leaving him out of their side for a mature age recruit for the last couple of weeks is there a possible trade to get this guy somewhere? He has a contract until the end of 2025 but I’m sure some Premiership contenders without great rucks would take that on and possibly extend. He has the most hitouts of the year in a game and the club lost the hitouts 56 to 19 last week and he was available. If I was him I’d be looking elsewhere.

Probably depends if hes happy to play 2s there and then retire after next year to pursue his medical career or if he wants to extend his afl career by a bit. If the latter then he might seek a move if the former probably not.

Well he can do that for many years ahead but football life is limited so who knows? Also he is probably on better money for football than his entry level wage in that profession as well.

He would be but the difference after tax would be around the value of a late model used kluger per year. Not sure id bother moving state for one or two used cars in value
 
His marking seems to have deserted him this year which was a big strength of his.

Maybe Collingwood or St Kilda depending on his value and how much of his contract Adelaide would pay? Crows would need to be recruiting a younger replacement before looking too seriously at this anyway and with Moyle off the market there’s not a lot out there

TO be honest If I wasa crows fan, I would rather keep him. He turns 30 by the end of 2025.

He will be a free agent too.

Only cause Conway didn't play, he dominated VFL on the weekend.

We just need someone to fill the role while Conway gets ready.
They don't want to overload the kid cause he had a major injury last year.

I mean yeah that's exactly it. Geelong doesn't have a ruck they'd be willing to play every game

Umm that is hardly a ringing endorsement. You decided to play no rucks instead of Conway. If you didnt want to overload him he wouldnt have played VFL....

People probably need to temper expectations a bit more with the guy. Geelong fans talk about him as if he is nailed on to be the next Max Gawn or something. Club 100% needs a 1st choice ruck this off season

Also Hawkins is getting on. At 35 his performances have dropped significantly from where they were 2 seasons ago. Need to get some more talls into your squad.

Nah he's going to be good as long as his body holds up. Next year we just need injury coverage and load management for him.

It's not to say he'll start dominating every game next year, just that Conway is the first choice ruck no question.

Don’t think we’ll go for him if his marking is gone.

We’d be more interested in a Lobb style fwd/ruck as opposed to a pure ruck like O’Brien anyways.
 
I mean it depends if we find a relatively ready ruck via trade ourselves. Moyle likely re-signing hurts

Tap work is okay-to-solid, but doesn’t have much else to his game at all these days
