Horrid rule change 15 years ago. A player get ball - Schoenberg -immediately tackled- ball falls or knocked out- for 160 years this was NOT a free. You have give the guy a reasonable time to dispose of it - never a free like this. That's why there used to be amazing plays whilst now it's all pressure, rush, free, rush, hurry, rugby gang tackle - you young guys missed the best of Australian Rules big time.

And yet Reiwoldt same thing, given free kick.

The umpire clearly said ‘insufficient intent ’.
That’s blatant cheating.
I’m sure they are high diving each other for getting one back against Murray.
It was simultaneously deliberate out-of-bounds, taking the legs and out on the full.

The umpiring hasn't been great, but perhaps let this particular incident go.

Not saying the umpiring has been crash hot, but the free kick count doesn't need to be level. It's possible, probable in fact, that one side will commit more infractions than the other.

It doesn't need to be level, but the umpires' intent was evident from the first bounce.

need to be cleaner under pressure, only a couple of points in it, richmonds 2nd halves havvet been great, we're right in it

Up there will McHenry not taking possession of the ball and somehow getting called holding the ball

That was the worst decision of the day so far.

We did get a couple of lucky ones, ROB and Tex.

I actually didnt think umps too bad except not paying actual throws.

The AFL will want Richmond to win this but if we take our chances we will win this.

Our issue we have is our defence - we leak too many goals but is in part they way we take chances.

Positive is we are showing good signs for the future.
Our issue is the delivery into the forward line again. How many times does Mackay kick to oppo inside 50 without pressure? Every bloody week.

You're right, and this is why Richmond normally have such a poor free kick differential. They play in a way where they commit far more infractions than the other team. They've also perfected dropping the ball when being tackled which the umpires generally no longer pay as holding the ball.

They haven't changed the way they're playing today - the game is being umpired differently.
