Rivers vs Gilham

Rivers has more talent. If he can stay on the park this year then he'd take this easily. If not it doesn't matter who he's up against does it.

One plays football regularly the other watches from the stands.

As far as Rivers goes, I never quite udestood all the hype.

Gilham gets no hype and performs well.

You didn't see him in 2004 or 2006? It was no coincidence when he played they were two of our better seasons in recent times.

I am surprised the poll is so even. I am assuming people are voting on the basis that Rivers is unlikely to get out onto the park.

It's hard because I hardly noticed Rivers last year to tweak my memory of him.

Rivers best is better than Gilham for sure. Gilham is improving however and if Rivers can't make it on the park then Gilham may improve to his level and be reliable at the same time.

Depends upon what the poll is asking - each player at their best or who would you rather right now?

I saw him.
As I said, Never really understood the hype.

And, yes it was a coincidence, you still had Neitz, Robertson, Yze, Bruce, Mclean and McDonald all in peak/good form.

Understood all the hype?

A guy who at one point was in the top 10 in the competition for both spoils and marks from opposition kicks (The only player to do so)? A guy who did jobs on players like Brown?

He held up our defence really in those years. Last year was very bad for him injury wise (As was 2007  ).

Rivers hasn't improved since his great debut, mainly due to a shocking run with injuries. So I'll take Gilham because we're not voting on potential.

Good luck to Jared though

Well we could vote on what they've achieved so far in their career and Rivers would win that (Please don't even think about the premiership medal argument, Paul Bevan has one FFS).

If Rivers actually plays, then him. He is just a better and more talented footballer all round than Gilham. If he cant get back from injury, then Gilham. Obviously better to have someone on the field than not :p

So Rivers won the Rising Star and then he won.... not much.

He can hang out with Danyle Pearce, Michael Wilson and Justin Koschitzke in the "Didn't Quite Go On With It" Club lounge. Apparently they only serve light beer at the bar

Remove Pearce and Koschitzke, add in Haselby and you could call it the unluckiest bast**d's alive bar...
