Clarke’s summary of how the Tigers’ players performed:

Oleg Markov

"Oleg was one who really stood out. He played across half back and did really well. His run and carry caught my eye."

Sydney Stack

"'Stacky' had time in the midfield and did some really good things in offence when he got the ball in his hands. He looked really lively around stoppages and contests which was great and did some good high-speed running."

Jack Ross

"'Rossy' played through the midfield and he did some really good things around getting the ball in his hands."

Riley Collier-Dawkins

"Played through the midfield. He kicked a really nice goal where he had three or four bounces down the wing and ran all the way until he was around 20 metres out and kicked the goal."

Callum Coleman-Jones

"Had some moments of playing to his strengths. He played ruck and went forward and kicked two goals which was good for him."

Is that not the most bland summation ever? They use to give stats and go into more detail. You can't take anything from that.

"Played through the midfield and did some really good things". Thanks Clarke.

We had virtually a full squad and they played like poo agst the poo & wee and the ‘aints in Melb but you think a loss by 2 goals away agst GWS pretty much full strength and missing 6+ top liners and a world of skill and experience is a worse loss?
I’ll respectfully disagree.

Yeah, agree. If we have a worse lose that loss to Hawthorn, we won't deserve finals. Soft. As. Butter.

I think we can all tell that the backline of 75,000 is just what the opposition line-up with against us now. Because it works. But we can't see what they're doing or how we might respond, because the ****ing broadcasters are rolling with the same camera angles they've had since the 50s.

We all know that watching on TV is a poorer experience than being at the ground - partly for atmosphere, but partly because you can see the ****ing game.

This is one thing Head Office could fix overnight without ****ing with the already ****ed rules. Need Clarkson to complain about it.

(If you haven't read it: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07...-are-the-source-of-afl-image-problem/12437678 It's the only article about "what's wrong with the game" you need to read.)

We're currently about 5 goals down on our average score per game compared to 2017 to 2019 and, coincidentally enough, goal assists per game are down from around 10 to 5. Perhaps that's the missing 5 goals a game?

I never thought I'd say it, but we miss the smartarse, dinky, unnecessary handballs inside 50.

Or maybe the opposition just don't let us do it anymore.

There's 18 defenders to cut off the extra handballs.

If we lose CCJ at the end of the season because we were persisting with Soldo, then I will not be happy. CCJ in please.
He got his taps and that is it. CCJ is a mobile ruckman, so I think he’ll do well against Tim English
My worry with soldo is I can barely recall him taking a mark tis season , that’s gone backwards coz he always took at least 1-2 last year . We need more of a contribution , bite the bullet and bring in CCJ for 2G that will give us a fair idea, if no good , go back to ivy
If you are going to select rucks for their marks then Soldo had more marks than Chol.
English is a concern, but Soldo has a way to not get flogged by his opponent. scoring concerns me more. All for CJ as fwd/ruck. I'm still mystified as to why Chol is playing ahead of CJ

You would think Chol would be the most mobile ruck option if you wanted someone to run with English. Whether he has the tank, or game smarts is probably the question. Is CCJ actually that "mobile"? In the little I've seen of him, he didn't strike me as particularly quick around the ground.

And re: him potentially asking to be traded home if he doesn't start to get game time, surely there'd be just as many ahead of him in the pecking order at both Adelaide and Port?

No point. He will be gone in 10 weeks.
Why so we can let another fringe player go somewhere else and set the house on fire like butler?
And yet plodders like rioli cant be dropped for 6 weeks when theyre out of form.
We’re not adelaide lol how about we actually look at the talent on the list properly before we let them walk.

Do people forget that Rioli *was* dropped a mere 4 weeks ago? I think he'd be aware his form has him on thin ice, and what's required of him to be assured of his spot in the team.

Getting more than 4 touches and actually looking like he’s interested? Lol

You'd hope so. I'm guessing there's a fair emphasis on tackling and forward half pressure acts, which seem to be down, but not completely missing from his game. He's possibly being saved by lack of better option to come in and replace him, too!

Edit: I like the idea of Stack up forward. Couldn't be any worse than some others on their current output!
