Just have to enter the 50 differently against Melbourne... it was clear when Adelaide either hit up a forward target on the lead (which we dont do) or the ball was chaotic, they scored.

Last time we played Melbourne we corrected how we entered the 50, which worked. Would have won if lynch and Nank played.

we'll bomb it in again

yeah he was outstanding.
In the context of a game vs 16th. Where we played 2 decent quarters, conceding 6 unanswered goals, getting smashed in centre clearances. Inaccurate in front of goal.

Backline were good under pressure, It wasn't good enough from any player. Not "outstanding" in my book.

The way the team is winning close games is about the only encouragement. No injuries at either level and game of Coulthard was impressive.

I hope we can drag Melbourne down to our level........................................and beat em with experience

Balta/Broad were outstanding no?

Need to play small, fast and skilled forward line

Bring in Cumbo and Coulthard.
Use Judson as the sub

Miller and Jack to sacrifice themselves on May and Lever while we run, gun and lower our eyes entering 50

Only way to beat Melbourne without Lynch

Great fight back. Experience prevailed in the end.
Ffs I hope the selection committee select someone to help Jack next week. Guys clearly cooked and is doing it all on his own
Agree with Jack, after watching the VFL, I can once again see Biggy being the perfect Townsend, I see a player that gets better the better the players you have around him.

But I think he has to be the medium forward, the third tall, even in the pressure forward role, so you would have to leave out a small, like Pickett or Graham, and when was the last time a premiership player was dropped?

Yeh but hopefully we learn from our last meeting. One thing is we must take our chances and convert the shots on goal.

converting chances isnt what we do here XD

really this is last chance saloon time, we have to win 2 of the last 3 to have any chance of playing finals, with lynch and nank playing id give us a red hot chance, but without them i think it will be too hard.

could be wrong though hopefully i am XD

People don’t understand his role in the team. He stretches the ground for us with his power running. It’s probably the most unrewarding role in the comp and he’s one of the best at it.

Then he pops up every now and then and kicks a goal. Usually one that either keeps us in it or gets us going.

People understand his role in the team, but he's been playing that role poorly of late.

Including the first 3 qtrs on Saturday, he missed 3 tackles/contests that lead to hawks goals, he was being overrun by the young Hawks mids. His workrate may have been there, and he may have been trying to play his role, but he was being outplayed for the most part.

To his credit, his last qtr was much much better, and his goal was critical, and given that, I don't expect him to be dropped, however to say that his overall performance was acceptable would be foolish.

A few comments in this thread have been along the following lines:

"... do posters not realise that players X,Y,Z were critical in the last quarter to us winning, if the kids were playing instead we don't win that game..."

Do these same posters realise if those players had played to an acceptable standard for the first 3 qtrs, then we wouldn't have been 5 goals down at 3/4 in the first place?

Balta/Broad were outstanding no?
Their midfield had our backline under the pump. Our backline has been solid all year. Balta and Young's efforts have been good enough to consider Gibcus forward.
Broad I gave a vote to, a good second game from Banks. Grimes conceded a few.

Just conceded 15 goals.

Being in NSW I hardly see the Hawks play. Sicily and worpel were outstanding.
As was their accuracy in tfront of goal.
RFC never has huge wins but I hope we keep the winning momentum into the rest of the season

I'd love to know why some circles in the media still say we're too reliant on our aging stars, if I was to rank our best most consistent players this year it'd go as follows -
Taranto (25yo) Bolton (24yo) Martin (32yo) Balta (23yo) D.Rioli (25yo) Baker (25yo) Vlastuin (29yo) Prestia (30yo) and great cameo's from
Ross (22yo) Broad (30yo) Short (27yo) Hopper (26yo) Graham (25yo) and Nank (28yo). Add Banks (20yo) Young (25yo) and Ryan (22yo)

Theres nothing old about that list profile and like it or not Cotchin, Riewoldt and Grimes are just not our match winners, can the media please stop pretending its still 2019, the transition from the premiership era is already done.
