If we make finals, that week off is going to be worth gold to us. At that point, where you finished on the ladder means little, you have to win out basically. I'd back us to win four finals, because of that 14 day break to refresh old legs, get Dusty, Grimes and maybe Floss back in. Rests for Prestia and Cotch and even Edwards. Look out.

Yeah I m getting quietly confident myself.
Were still in the hunt particularly if we can get the players you mentioned back and get no new injuries to key players like Prestia, Lynch and Shai.

Don't mind the idea of mcintosh going back to cover vlastuin. Does stack have the tank to play wing? Can't see dimma going for it. Would probably mean ralphsmith comes back in.

Wouldn't mind seeing Graham play on a wing and Stack half forward but most likely stack won't even be an emergency.

Edwards is a certainty to return for possibly his last ever game at the G.
Shedda played wing when McIntosh went back against the Lions. I think they'll go with that again.

Every team’s performance analysed and graded in foxfooty.com.au’s Round 21 Report Card.

RICHMOND

The Tigers will be a real threat if they can hang on to eighth place and lock in a finals berth. They showed they have weapons in attack with Tom Lynch and Shai Bolton enjoying a night out in Adelaide. Richmond racked up 62 inside 50s and 45 clearances away from home and finished +31 in the contested ball count. A number of players put their bodies on the line in the must-win game to ensure they remain alive in season 2022.

In the votes

Shai Bolton was the player of the match, and could have finished with an absolute bag of goals if not for his inaccuracy. He still ended up with an equal career high of four goals, but also landed five behinds. Tom Lynch was devastating in attack as he racked up 4.1 from his 16 disposals. Dan Rioli also showed what he is capable of if needed in attack with two goals in his 25 disposals. Fox Footy’s David King believes Dion Prestia is the key to Richmond’s success in 2022 after he collected 32 disposals and 10 clearances.

Room for improvement

The Tigers didn’t have a match up for big Charlie Dixon when he was deep in the square. And that could be a concern for Richmond heading into the final two rounds. Marlion Pickett had a quiet night with just the eight disposals, but even he silenced the crowd with a brilliant goal from the boundary. Nathan Broad coughed up two goals from two defensive errors. The first when he punched the ball through for a behind and was penalised, and the second for insufficient attempt to keep the ball in play inside his defensive 50.

Grade

A+

SEN must have had the balloons ready ,party hats and plenty of red cordial and 100's and 1000s bread to celebrate Richmond out of finals.

I can hear sneakers on a basketball court,oh that's the SEN offices, the sound of squeaky bottoms.

Love Broad but have to roast that game of his it was garbage. His composure and skills eluded him.

Have to toast Vlas for standing in that lane my god what a viking that lad is.
exactly the same - that OOTF when he was under increasing pressure, and cbf and just flonked it about 20m over the line. Was sheepish after but grrr!

Haha it’d be the last year for the pre-finals bye as well if we won it from 7th or 8th because of it. :D

But they are tagging him. Literally mentioned in that video he was tagged against port at times.
I didn’t watch the video. But if he was tagged against Port, then that’s good news.

I knew he was going to do that ! His left foot is ok normally but it was bad execution. Also did he think he was going to get away wit that deliberate he should have just smashed it up the line and taken a chance.

Absolutely deserves that roast. His worst game for the club by a long long way. Gave away 3 direct shots at goal from sheer stupidity (should have cost 3 goals, got lucky with one). For a player of his experience he needs to be better, but thankfully we went on to win and I think that performance was an outlier to what has been an exceptional season for him. Still one of the first picked.

Yep Butters got the job on him when he went into the middle. Tried wearing him close (which Shai found funny) but just couldn't keep up. Port managed to restrict him to a measly 10 shots on goal. Lol

I'd like to see this lineup -

In- Ryan, Edwards
Out- Gibcus, Vlastuin

Fb- Miller, Tarrant, Broad
Hb- Rioli, Balta, Baker
C- Kmac, Cotchin, Pickett
Hf- Riewoldt, Lynch, Cumberland
Ff- MRJ, Ryan, Edwards
R- Nank, Prestia, Bolton

I/c- Sonsie, Graham, Ross, Short
Sub- Stack.
