Autopsy Roast & toast vs Saints, changes for Cotchin’s final home game

Here's a link to the opening 10 mins against North in 95 to wash away the memory of Mini Mouse's recent starts to games.

Still remember it like it was yesterday. Started the game surrounded by 5 or 6 mouthy cousins all Kangas fans. 10 minutes later they all disappeared lol. At least I stayed put and copped their 💩 when Longmire put us to the sword prior to that.

Forgot how much of a unit Gale was.

We know the usual suspects who played well and I'm sure they have been covered in most posts, so ill just go straight to the ones who didn't perform. Before I do a special shout out to Thompson Dow, who played well, had 21 disposals at 76% DE and took 6 marks. He didn't panic zig-zagged through traffic, keep playing him for the next two games.

I was there today, seriously players have checked out and our game style especially on Marvel is shit. Our skills are shizenhousen and on Marvel, it shows up even more.

It didn't matter during our flag years because we were relentless in our attack on the ball and man. Frenetic pressure.

Enough is enough for these two Graham 12 disposals and Pickett 11, neither hit the scoreboard
Macintosh it doesn't matter if he had it 20 times, he just doesn't hurt the opposition with his disposal.

Soldo with 5 disposals. It didn't work last week but hey on the fast track of Marvel let's play the same setup again Nank/Soldo = the same result.

Grimes has been a great servant, in his prime a star but he has fallen off a cliff.

Riewoldt, another champion of our great club. 6 disposals and a goal didn't have a good day at the office.
Personally, I hope he hangs up the boots, turning 35 in a few months.

What I want to see next week.

Banks to replace Kmac on the wing. Pace and kicking skills upgrade so a tick.
Cotch, Bolton, Ross, Dow and Hopper starting in the guts. Ball clearance winning ability with an injection of pace so tick.
Dusty and Taranto starting forward. Strength in the contest and added goal kicking ability so tick.
If Rioli doesn't get up it's time for Brown to get a crack.
One Ruck only in Nank.
Jack, Bauer and Ryan in the forward line. Ryan can be the back-up for Nank.
Pickett to play forward with instructions to smash in and create chaos on the ball.
Graham omitted.
Bakes, Shorty, Balta, Young, Vlaustin, Grimes permanently stay in backline.
Cumbo or Mansell as the sub. Can be brought on for added pace and defensive pressure in the forward line.

We need to pick an experienced team for Cotch's farewell but with a need for speed.

You mention a need for speed then pick a forwardline of Jack, Bauer, Ryan, Pickett, Martin, Taranto. That's close to the slowest forward line in history. Want speed go back to 3 smalls and get rid of 3 of those. If Taranto is getting moved out of the midfield for speed, he should be in the VFL, not slowing down the forward line.

Our double-ups this year are currently sitting 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 18th on the ladder. Wtf.
Isn't it where they finished last year that matters? Sometimes you get lucky and a team who's good one year turns to shit (like us) and vice versa.

I don't have a problem with our draw. The incredibly biased umpiring against us, yes, but not the draw. But most of all it's the inability for our coaching staff to make the hard call on some experienced players who are clearly not up to it anymore, and blindly sticking to a game plan that was designed for a different team at a different time and is getting picked apart by sides that will be bundled out of the finals in the first week (if they make it).

What a shitshow of a season. Now we get to lose to North, lol.

I like that team. I like it so much I'm almost 100% sure our MC won't pick anything remotely like it, unfortunately.
