Was seen at Whitten oval yesterday. Perhaps having a talk with former teammate Luke Beveridge? This is no idle gossip - my wife works there and spotted him.

You might very well be right ...

But I also could imagine that the AFL is a very incestuous industry and folks probably visit each other all the time.

Without complete details perhaps it was two mates catching up for coffee? It's too late in the piece for a contracted 2IC coach to be even considering a move...

I'm somewhat confident that Harvey won't be with us in 2016, but for 2015 I'd say lock it in Eddie!

Yessssss Harvey please move on has not set the world on fire at all.................Hello Brenton Sanderson once he gets to Collingwood watch the entire dynamic of the coaching staff change for the better and a great right hand man for Bucks with Neil Balme in the background....come on Harvey see ya bring on Brenton

Agree - IF Harvey is Leaving then Sando will be taking his Place

I would say he hasn't set the world on fire at Collingwood and maybe I'm alone, but I wouldn't bat an eyelid if he moved on.

You're right. He won Assistant Coach of the Year last year but he didnt win anything this year. Obviously, he's gone completely downhill in the last 12 months.

Moving this late to be an assistant? I doubt it

Did he really? Well I didn't know that.

Doesn't change my point - we had many deficiencies last season but the midfield was as poor as I've ever seen it at Collingwood IMO. I don't think we were injury ravaged in the mids compared to the forwards/defenders so I was very surprised to see us go backwards here. I understand that our rucks were and still are young but I saw nothing from the midfield to really excite me.

Just my opinion of course and this takes nothing away from Harvey being one of the greatest midfielders to play the game - just I won't lose any sleep if he leaves.

Lots of reasons why, but certainly our structures in the C/square and around stoppages weren't up to scratch.

I had my weekly run and kick at Whitten Oval on Wednesday night so I can confirm I have no idea whether this is true or not but can confirm my confirmation is is in fact true. I'd also like to confirm this is idle gossip given the title poses the question - Robert Harvey looking elsewhere? ...just because he was seen at Whitten Oval, the day after I was there, kicking my footy.

I though Scott Burns is our midfield coach, and Harvey our Senior Assistant Coach.

The website has him listed as assistant coach (midfield) along with Scotty Burns. I just thought that a guy who probably has started in the centre square more than any other coach/player at Collingwood he would be most adapt at coordinating the midfield group including set-up.

I think we need to boot Scott Burns as well.....

In fact, while we're at it, we should think long and hard about the senior coach too...

(1) I don't have any insight into how well Harvey does his job. However, he was quickly given a promotion at our club, players have always spoken highly of him, and he has won AFLCA (peer judged) awards. That is enough for me to think he does a good job.

(2) I don't understand the love for Sando?!? He was let go by Adelaide for good reason.

This one frustrates the hell out of me. It would be a big fat mistake to bring that personality into our club. People need to go over to the Adelaide forum and read about some of why he got fired. And then ask themselves if we need that at our club.

Agreed and unsure the club could deal with having he and Buckley. I am a Buckley supporter, but having those two work together could be dangerous with the player coach relationships.

What's the knock on him? I haven't read anything on him from the Crows board and barely batted an eyelid when he was moved on. Looks like a strong personality, maybe my way or the highway type guy which sounds like a disaster being any where near Bucks.

Just curious.
